I get the skepticism but given how little we have the ball facundo and bilal operate more as 8s than 10s. I just used it to demonstrate that they would be further forward than wilf. I think both would help out defensively more than winks, skipp or soumare have all season
-
Still looks more functional than what we’ve been doing. this may be filed under an unpopular opinion but I think bilal would make a better 8 than 10
-
Personally if I was wilf I’d rather not have a partner who either goes missing completely, pretends to mark or gets the ball and gives it straight to opposition in a dangerous area. Always the option that while one wb bombs forwards the other tucks in next to him ala maresca

Hermansen JJ Vesty and his dog. Okoli ricardo. Wilf. Woyo Facundo. Bilal Patson. Vardy Tell me why this isn’t worth a try? Plenty of protection but actually a threatening team on a counter

Wouldn’t be the worst idea to say keep a few quid but we get first option on any loans. He’s not going straight into the first team so I’d feel a lot less shitty about it if we got him for a season or 2 when they are still developing him. -

What’s exciting is he’s got that rare ability to almost run through a player. He’s not kicking and running he’s actually directly going through them like they’re not there. He’d be our best player at 17 or he’ll join man city and we won’t hear his name again until he’s 20 -

Agent said Barca were sniffing and he got 40k pw off the bat. if we went back in time and there were the Barca rumours and he left for free, people would have kicked off about that as well -
Poor lad must have lost his family so much money because the English refs just ignore dives

Well yeah you’re certainly right on that but in his case he has allegedly been part of a betting ring on things he would personally do in a game. Yellow cards etc. So I get why the fa wouldn’t want him to play again.

Well we tried to do that with hamza and choudhury and most people agree that was daft. We can’t lambast the club for not having a good wage structure then complain when we won’t overpay. -
There are so many ramifications though. What if a player got his team relegated because he wanted to get a red card or purposely missed a penalty? Your argument stands for Toney or someone gambling on things they have no control over. But betting on your own actions is completely different imo. It fraud plain and simply and you’d have a far different opinion if a Leicester player had been throwing games or something similar. maybe that explains how bad ward is? Im not saying he’s done anything that’s damaged his club but he could have done.

1 billion as a prize for the club World Cup… shamefully unfair for a handpicked tournament.

I was originally against adding to the exposure but we’re already cooked. Only hope is proving that there’s a path to the first team and a year starting in the championship with us is best for his career -

Agree with this. Daka was doing similar numbers to haaland it was worth a gamble. I remember seeing angry spurs fans online because they didn’t understand how we were getting him and that they weren’t after him. Really hard to get those ones right but on the flip side, if it wasn’t Daka it would have been edouard, so we’d have been doomed either way -

In that scenario, Everton finally would have dropped and they likely got a point deduction when they returned. Our future would have been secured. Especially when you consider it would have been lookman coming in -

Time is definitely a bit of a healer and my full on venom towards Brendan has diluted. But im curious on people’s thoughts on this. At the time, many (myself included) believed that the reason for our downfall was Brendan. it was the boards because they didn’t get rid of him quick enough but by and large I think we all believed he caused this downfall with project ego. In hindsight, it’s clear that the problems he raised all those years ago, particularly after forest, were valid. Theres no hiding that to get that squad relegated is nothing short of a disgrace. But the real short coming, was the club not supporting him. He created something special for 2 seasons and at the crunch time in January, when we were laboured with injuries (both times) he didn’t get the support he needed. The injured players never returned at the same levels. (Wilf, Ricardo, Justin, even Maddison for large periods) And this failure to evolve led us to forest, when Brendan said it how it is. The club needed a complete rebuild. He was exactly right… the summer comes and we did…. Absolutely nothing. Now, you can be mad with how he handled it. But this had been coming. Look at man city from this season, things go stale even with the best managers in football. the fresh players change what you can do and reenergize the club, it stops people getting too comfy. When he realised how far gone we were, he simply stopped trying and wanted to be sacked… the club were too inept to do that and had put themselves in that position with severe mismanagement of funds. All I need to know, to work out who is to blame….we replaced fofana with faes. Curious how peoples opinions might have switched looking back with hindsight

I thought Howe said he was just tired? Could be playing mind games I guess
