Rodger’s vs the board (chicken vs egg)
Lambert09 replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
They’re still all of those things… when do they take accountability -
Time is definitely a bit of a healer and my full on venom towards Brendan has diluted. But im curious on people’s thoughts on this. At the time, many (myself included) believed that the reason for our downfall was Brendan. it was the boards because they didn’t get rid of him quick enough but by and large I think we all believed he caused this downfall with project ego. In hindsight, it’s clear that the problems he raised all those years ago, particularly after forest, were valid. Theres no hiding that to get that squad relegated is nothing short of a disgrace. But the real short coming, was the club not supporting him. He created something special for 2 seasons and at the crunch time in January, when we were laboured with injuries (both times) he didn’t get the support he needed. The injured players never returned at the same levels. (Wilf, Ricardo, Justin, even Maddison for large periods) And this failure to evolve led us to forest, when Brendan said it how it is. The club needed a complete rebuild. He was exactly right… the summer comes and we did…. Absolutely nothing. Now, you can be mad with how he handled it. But this had been coming. Look at man city from this season, things go stale even with the best managers in football. the fresh players change what you can do and reenergize the club, it stops people getting too comfy. When he realised how far gone we were, he simply stopped trying and wanted to be sacked… the club were too inept to do that and had put themselves in that position with severe mismanagement of funds. All I need to know, to work out who is to blame….we replaced fofana with faes. Curious how peoples opinions might have switched looking back with hindsight

I thought Howe said he was just tired? Could be playing mind games I guess

When in doubt get big Sam out

Why is isak out of the final?
-
They make it up as they go along tbqh. It’s good for you though, as every time he acts like this he puts a dent in any mega move.
-
But surely they will look at the glasses incident and see no lesson has been learnt. I feel like 5/6 minimum is coming. Kudus got a 5 game ban earlier so the precedent has been set.

If it makes anyone feel slightly better, it looks like corberan is getting valencia relegated as well and theyve got a better squad than us. Essentially, none of the realistic options we had would have saved us with this level of support from our board. Its widely acknowledged that McKenna is a good manager, yet even with financial backing they dont look any better off for survival than us. Its not an excuse for us but more just a fact that we were likely doomed whatever direction we went in. The only real question mark would be whether Moyes was ever realistic. If he was available to us in the summer and we went with cooper.... deary me

Development/Youth Squads 2024/2025 Thread - U18/U21

Late goals usually are down to 1 of 2 things, poor fitness or lack of game management. Id put my hat on the latter being the case -
What’s twatty about this? I understand we need to be outraged at everything because we’re shit but it’s really not a big deal. he had a personal situation and needed to bring his dog, happens in my office all the time, not once has someone considered them a twat. It’s a dog for Christ sake and he asked permission and the club said he could. They are humans, we don’t need to get upset about everything they do. The dog would have been the most positive thing in Seagrave in a long time

I’d genuinely have picked him over any of our cbs. hope he recovers quickly

I think at his age, if he wants to prove he can play at a top club, a season at the top end of the champions is just what he needs. Perform like kdh and a big club will come for him. Right now, he’d struggle to break into a top side and he can really go without another relegation fight. hopefully he gives us one more year
-
This would be great. Would love to see him stand out on a field with Malen, rashford and asensio
-
His heads dropped the last few games. Doesn’t look the same player. He’s visibly knackered half the game and ruud is scared to take him off now after the boos
-
Best thing that happened to Chelsea in years was when they got that transfer embargo. Allowed them to bring in mount, Abraham, tomori etc.

Whilst I hope you’re true, the efl tend to be able to make decisions on a whim more than the prem. There’s been little logic to the points deductions for a while. If we’ve broken any rules they will throw the book at us

Unfortunately this thread is pointless. We all know what is coming. Russell Martin will get the job because he’s proven he can get championship promotion and that will be the final nail in our coffin

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Lambert09 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
because we’ve all accepted our fate already. so why not give a cult hero a crack. there’s not a manager in football who could turn this around and the board know this, that’s why ruud is still here -

Look it’s so very easy, mutually agree with ruud for him to leave before he loses every game and leaves himself no chance of future employment. Pay him until the end of the season and let him say he’s walked. Give kingy the job until the end of the season. it will be a welcome morale boost at the club and great experience for him. He either pulls off a miracle (I wouldn’t put anything past him) or he just gets us going down hopefully with a little bit of fight. Reassess in the summer and start the rebuild. No reason to waste money on anyone at this point so why not just give us something. For kingy, it could be a leap towards management like it was for Ruben selles despite him getting hammered every week. -

Do we think Rohl would take the job at this stage? Is it a good idea to have someone on downwards momentum anyway? I don’t mean professionally, but just another 11 games of us losing might be hard to hit the ground running from next season. Whereas a new manager in the summer brings optimism -
I genuinely don’t think there’s a selection that could get a point. maybe we can get a consolation goal. pick whoever, Idc
-
It was awful but it was better than this. Sacking him was the right decision but we’ve managed to bring in someone worse. I’ll hold my hands up, I believed Ruud would be good. But he’s lost, he has favourites despite us being woeful and he has no pragmatism at all. I’m not convinced his game plan would work even with all of his players in the system it just looks naive and easy to break down. What it does highlight, is that Coopers plan to keep everyone behind the ball was a necessity because of how many clowns we have at the back
-
He’s one that has let us down the most, just seems to have stopped trying. The corner before they scored, he was laughing and joking with Todibo. I was thinking he’s going to score here because soumare isn’t paying attention to what’s going on at all. I think todibo was happily distracting him but that shows the IQ of our players

Brighton must be fuming, ruud has made facundo go from looking like a 50m player to a 10m one
