That’s optimistic of you. I think Top’s head is firmly in the clouds. More like the attitude of a neutral fan… of course we’re getting relegated this season, what did we expect. I don’t think we’ll be hearing anything this season from him. There won’t be an inquest and they will naively assume we will just get promoted again without any real challenge
-
Where do you think the competition would come from? There won’t be prem teams looking. Nobody looks likely to sack at this point other than perhaps spurs (who won’t go for him). We will be the most attractive club you’d think (unless clubs abroad consider him). We created a financial mess for ourselves, so suggesting wasting money for a lost cause and creating downward momentum, doesn’t make sense for me if the release clauses are correct.

Carrick is another Martin tbqh. The football looking pretty is more important than the results it generates. We need to move away from this direction. Boro have dropped so many points simply by messing around with the ball in their own box. We need someone that can be successful at scrapping in the premier league, because what’s the point in getting promoted if we will just crash and burn again because we will not be able to sustain the play style. Didn’t work for burnley, didn’t work for Ipswich ( for different reasons) but the teams that survive tend to adapt and with the gap as large as it is right now, you simply need a pragmatic manager to have a chance. Doesn’t mean you need to be negative but just understand that you preferred philosophy isn’t going to work against top sides and you have to build towards it. That’s why someone like rohl is my preference as he’s already proven he can operate at the bottom of a table so let’s see how he can do with a team towards the top.

I like the idea of a loan with obligation, seeing that he would likely not be involved in west hams first team straight away anyway and likely not Monaco’s. Although, as we are dealing with ourselves, an option would make more sense … we wouldn’t be planning to do ourselves dirty and there’s no reason to corner yourselves with an obligation if it’s not working for the player or us. But the only issue is that leuven may need the cash now for the replacement but it certainly should be easy enough to deal with yourself. Given that le fee and Edward’s were willing to do that does show that the players are open to these moves these days. We haven’t really worked with leuven on much, we’ve tried a few things to help them out but other than the Hirst loophole, (and sowah) we’ve not utilized it for our gain at all.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Lambert09 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Surely he’s scored more goals as man united manager than with us ? -
Our fans are so apathetic. No boos, no Rudkin out, all I can hear are clappers ffs
-
Wonder what next for him now? Another prem loan? it’ll hurt to see Leeds or Sheffield get the best out of him
-
Just odd to be pointing the finger at him today of all people. The whole team is awful but he’s been our best player today imo
-
Did you miss what soumare just did then?
-
Hate to say it but the difference between the running we’re getting from Daka and vardy is staggering. We really can’t afford to keep him next year
-
Would banzuzi be realistic in the championship? I feel like it would be
-
Don’t think he signs a multi year deal with us if that was the case. It’s his retirement package, he’s not got anything left for top level football and will take our cash happily.
-
The only market that might touch ayew is Saudi. Potentially he gets something because he has a big following in Ghana.
-
Unfortunately this is the most likely outcome. id be surprised if we get more than 30 tbh. im more worried we give Jakob the shirt and offer a new deal to ward
-
easy to forget wanya is out on loan, but he just subbed on in the 57th minute. They won 2-0 (1-0 when he came on)
-
Lots of positive talk from oxford about Nelson. Seems to have come back well from injury. They seem to think he’ll be a starter for us next season no matter the division (they’re more optimistic than us that we could survive )
-
I’d rather not. It’s over for us, let him get healthy and get a good preseason into him.

Well originally I would have agreed. But we are only 6 points away and maresca is far better than cooper and RVN. The summer looks a lot different if he was in charge. If Maresca was here, I think we start fairly well, and wed eventually hit a rut when players lose confidence to play his way and he wont change his philosophy. But I think he just wins the games where teams were there for the taking. Weve been gifted so many occasions where the other side are nowhere near their best this season and by and large weve not even tried to get at them and allowed them to pick up some confidence. Ultimately we might still have gone down but id think wed actually be leading wolves at this stage and would be crossing their fingers they cant catch us, rather than the other way around.

I think I could accept our on the pitch form if the aim from the start was to fix our financial issues. If we had just taken this as a lifeline but accepted we were likely going down but in a better financial position, id be fine. But then you look at the type of business. Expensive contracts on players with no resale value. 8m on ayew. 25m on skipp. Remove these two bits of business and I think id look at it all and say, well we were being smart for business reasons. Get the ffp stuff behind us and allow us room to grow when we are ready to. But what we actually did was act desperately. Pay players what they want. Pay whatever fees clubs wanted for cast aways because that was what the manager wanted. Unsurprisingly we acted without a vision. This season is the worst its ever been. The decisions have made less sense than ever before and we undid a lot of excellent work from enzo and his team. We are still very well placed to go up next season, despite how bad it has been. But we need clear heads and change and a sprinkle of quality from the academy. The next manager appointment is the biggest in our history imo, get it wrong and we could drop to league 1. We have one chance to bounce back before it all crumbles and the work to establish ourselves over the last 15 years is completely lost.

Ben Nelson on the pitch! Great news
-
but as others have said, if the players around him are improved he might shine more. it’s impossible to say at this point but if he stays healthy and gets minutes we can take a good look in the summer. he doesn’t need to be as good as stephy or fatawu, he needs to be as good as yunus was.
