I honestly can't believe he's not picking himself and to be honest it is the fault of the USGA who have put him in this mess. He's world number 11, ahead of Cantlay, Burns, Young and Griffin (ignoring BDC as if he was on tour, he'd be top 3 IMO) and ahead of Young, Cantlay and Burns in the US Ryder Cup standings. I feel this has come about as a result of being humiliated in the Netflix Full Swing documentary. They publicly humiliated him, tried to appease him by giving him the captaincy and it has backfired massively by now not having a player on the team who should be there. If I was him, I would've picked myself, got the vice captains to do more legwork and stuck two fingers up at the USGA for the mess.

Hopefully retired with his EEE money and jetted off into the sunset. So long Lako my friend, you've given us all a little boost in our portfolios!
-
Got a bit more in at around 30p before the latest uplift, will wait to see if there's a correction around the corner back to say 35-38p and go again.
-
Yep both unreal. Love Cheddar and Onion Kettle Chips as well when they're on offer, I'm not minted.

You play the amount of golf I dream of playing, thats what it screams to me! Played tonight, 37 (+1) for 9 holes. Had the driver working a dream, the putter not quite so much. It's so firm out there now, I drove the green on 5 and 3 putted for a par, always love doing that.

Yep did that Saturday night, cookie dough this time. Didn't regret it one bit.
-
All I have to say is I'm jealous that you get out 3/4 times a week! That's a dream!

That's fair enough, even though I have just said what I said, I continue to have lessons and have got pretty good at separating my range stuff and my "medal"/round stuff. I don't practice as much during the summer, but do keep having lessons just to keep in check and also when you spot patterns in round its nice to have that check in with the coach coming in a week or two. Completely understand on the membership side, I hadn't properly considered that when I commented back to you. I seem to have less and less time to practice these days so I'm taking up putting practice in the house. I can keep the long game fairly easily, but the short game, not so much!

Interesting to read you don't continue to have lessons during the summer, any reason why? You want winter, so that you have the break from playing, but then take up lessons? My personal opinion is that's a bit backwards. If you're not playing, practising, implementing what your lessons tell you, you might as well not go. I absolutely love golf, there are many things I'd happily give up to keep playing and the above is all just my opinion, no harm intended. But my God I'm with you it is so frustrating, the amount of rounds I come off the course and go "why did I hit that over there? What was I thinking?" or something similar is unreal. That's why I love it though, I do constantly want to get better, get my handicap down and be the best I can be.

Made up for him. Great to see many Europeans at the end too, Hall, Lowry and Rosey all there for him! Brilliant to watch!

That's it, CALL THE ENGRAVERS LADS!
-
Challengers dropping by the second here. Cantlay in the bunker, if it's another bogey from him and a par from Tommy, I say call the engravers!
-
Cantlay miss and Fleetwood make there feels MASSIVE. It has to be this time, surely!
-
Come on then Tommy, today is your day. I can feel it.
-
He can never just keep his lead and sail off into the distance can he. If he wins this, we've still got all the ups and downs of a Rory at The Masters type heartache to come.

Two great leaderboards in the tour competitions this week, to be expected in the US one but great to see the big names in the field having a good week at the Belfry. Be interesting to see if Penge could beat fellow Ryder Cup players/hopefuls Hojgaard and Fitzpatrick to really throw his name into the mix.

Genuinely thought it was AI when I first saw it! Absolutely, would love him to get it done at the Tour Championship!

Has anyone seen Keegan Bradley's putt in the Tour Championship? Not sure I've ever seen it in a pro tournament! https://x.com/PGATOUR/status/1958931670024786377?t=ueSj76g8NPHu-o2yS2CWTw&s=08

Fantasy Premier League 25/26

The AFCON 5 transfers nonsense has ruined the game this year, there was an art to planning your team/transfers to work round things like AFCON and you gained good rank by doing it, now they've just given everyone a free hit basically. Perhaps I'm biased because the best bit of FPL for me is the strategy/planning of it. -
Would be amazing, a relatively small holding here but I've made 27.5% out of it and of course with thanks to Lako because being honest it wasn't on my radar at all. I was going to tag him but seems to have disappeared from the forum!

You say that but you look at their team and its going to be full of a weird combination of out of form stars (Morikawa, Schauffele), a random major winner (Spaun), some unknown quantities in terms of a Ryder Cup (English and Henley) who are no mugs but not exactly striking fear into you either, plus the absolute mess Keegan Bradley is causing himself, I think its a close call. If Keegan doesn't play himself, then is he picking rookies who are in better form (Griffin, McNealy, Novak, Young) or going with the out of form old guard (Spieth, Cantlay, Harman, Burns). Probably Thomas is the one who you'd say has played himself in, rather than out like most of the others have. The form of Bobby Mac, Fleetwood, Rose give us hope, Rory is Rory so we have our own fire-power to fight back with. Likely that a few new faces fit in with us so I'd imagine picks would be the experienced players like Rahm, Aberg, Fitzy, Hovland, Straka and R Hojgaard. We always seem to knit far better than the Americans too, I think yet again it'll be close, its just so so so absurdly difficult to win an "away" Ryder Cup due to so many factors I think perhaps that alone just tips it to the US side. As always, it'll be a fascinating watch!

Monga what a boy, looks hungry, looks everything that everyone else isn't.

And the absolute opposite for Tommy, not even close.

Who invited JJ Spaun?! FFS you had your flash in the pan major now sod off will you!!

Football Kits 2025-26
HowardsBulletHeader replied to MC Prussian's topic in General Football and Sport
Get on DHGate and order from there. Takes 2-3 weeks but the quality is generally really good. I paid 12 quid including delivery for this seasons AC Milan shirt with all the badges and Modric 14 on the back, its a no brainer. Not sure I'll ever order another football shirt from this country to be honest. There's some you may get that aren't great, but you're paying £12 delivered, not £60-80 plus then printing costs on top. My opinion is, if 1 out of 4 end up in the charity shop, then so be it. I'm still at £48, not £240 using the above maths. Yes, I'm too old to be wearing shirts with player names on the back and no, I don't care.
