  1. Some people in here need a massive reality check, this is the market we are currently in. We are a financial mess, we are getting points docked and in all likelihood going to be in trouble for the whole of next season. I'm not defending the club for what they've done, they've caused this mess, but it at least seems they are starting to act sensibly now. This is a solid addition on a free, PL experience and at worst he will run his socks off. Sounds familiar, right? I would like to think the club has realised they were badly overpaying, realised they can't do that any longer and risk further problems down the line so he is on a sensible wage with appropriate clauses. It also feels like people are forgetting how many players have actually gone out the door already.. Adding a player of this calibre on a free is great, it's low risk and gives us added depth. When Albrighton signed did he get you off your seat? Me neither. A good solid signing, onto the next one!
  2. Would snap their hand off, better than any winger we've got currently. We'd be absolutely mad not to if it's true.
  3. Surely this can't be a straight swap, there's no way Moder is of the same value as KDH.
  4. Should've let us and Kimber carry on, another 5 overs you could've started the car 😉
  5. Yeah that was a bit lazy to be fair.. Travelling into Brisbane, travelling up to Cairns, then down to Sydney & Melbourne. Then onto Thailand for a bit of down time, thinking Koh Samui/Koh Phangan for now but open to recommendations for all.
  6. Me and the wife doing 3 & a bit weeks in Australia and Thailand, can't bloody wait! Any recommendations?
  7. Sorry mate this is FoxesTalk, you can't talk that level of sense round here. You'll learn though I'm sure 😉👍🏻
  8. Finally got my season ticket back this season and I was so excited for the new season, back in the Premier League and with Enzo at the helm it felt like a real opportunity to kick on. Yes, there were questions that still remain regarding finances, players out of contract and the points deduction which probably Enzo knew about and that's at least a small part of the reason why he jumped ship. The main reason being Chelsea came knocking. Then it looks for all the world we are getting Potter, great, a very good appointment. That ship sails and we end up with Cooper. Gutted. I will back the team obviously, but this is a massively disappointing appointment and has sapped all of the enthusiasm I had out of the upcoming season. Cooper has an absolute mountain to climb, the vast majority of fans dont want him with his Forest connections, the club is disjointed and between Rudkin, Whelan and Top it seems nobody has a clue. This inability to get the targets we want on the player front and now the manager front remains and someone's head needs to roll for it, it is happening far too often. Good luck Steve, you will need it.
  9. For 10m I think this is a good deal, he's 26, entering his prime and hasn't worked out for him at Spurs so he needs to move. He will want to prove himself in the Prem and he's got a good opportunity to oust either Vestergaard or Faes under a new manager. We are desperate for another quality option at CB, I don't think Vestergaard will cut it with the pace of the Premier League and Rodon has a big opportunity to cement a spot in the XI. Having more CBs on the books gives us a back 3 with wing back options JJ, Kristiansen, Ricky P. I think this is fairly smart business.
  10. A sweetener for Mourinho as the next manager? 😉
  11. It's 5-01 this isn't acceptable, Rudkin out.
  12. How did I let myself get lured into this thread thinking someone might potentially even have an ounce of interest in Danny Ward?
  13. It's a great deal for Newcastle and in todays market its definitely cheap, guaranteed goals and assists and still has the potential to get better. We have nobody to blame but ourselves. As others have said, this one hurts more than Madders. We knew Madders would go but for some reason it felt like we might, just might, be able to ship enough fringe players to keep Harvey to fire us back up. Perhaps it was wishful thinking but it was definitely in my mind. He's a great talent and it will be a long time before another Harvey Barnes comes through, took an incredible amount of stick despite his output, he's not without his faults but when he's on his game he is unplayable. I wish him all the best but it hurts, it really hurts. A local lad going to the Saudi money, just feels grim, seeing him in a barcode shirt will make incredibly difficult viewing.
  14. Good, don't want to see many of the previous shit show from the last 18 months anyway. Get the lot of them gone for all I care.
  15. Tom Davies is absolutely awful. Rather gouge out my own eyeballs than watch him.
  16. My latest conclusion is Castagne and Choupo-Moting must have the same agent because christ almighty they get their players in some unbelievably unexpected teams.
  17. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't be positive about this appointment, I know it's not everyone's first choice but I believe whilst it has a large element of risk, it's the right choice for us at the moment. It feels like a moment to take a risk, to create an opportunity, we've already been relegated so we are at such a massive low, it needs a massive uplift and a completely new voice to do that. Smith, Shakey and Co wouldn't have offered it and Parker wouldn't either. Potter and Hutter were never in the running let's face it, we are too low for them. Do I know it will work? Of course I don't, nobody does but it feels like an opportunity to completely revamp the club which is exactly what we need. We need gutting from top to bottom and a fresh impetus that has been lacking for 12-18 months. I personally applaud the board for taking the risk on and I hope their bravery is rewarded. We've seen it with the likes of Burnley taking risks with Kompany and Arteta at Arsenal, it can take time, but patience can be rewarded. I hope the board back Enzo fully, particularly if times get tough, that's when he needs backing again, not sacking. This feels like a long term appointment and hopefully it is the one that takes us back at the first attempt. Parker and Smith would've been stop gaps until the inevitable sacking in the Premier League, assuming we got there. Welcome Enzo, I hope you're the one to lead us back to where we belong.
  18. Fixed for you.
  19. I really like it, I like the fact they haven't played safe. Yes it's an unknown and it's potentially dangerous but the club needs a new philosophy and a new way of thinking that I'm convinced wouldn't be brought in by bringing in Smith or Parker. Regardless of their experience at getting the job done in the Championship, they are sitting ducks come the time we get to the Premier League and inevitably get found out under their methods. You could say, that's what we brought them in for, but it's a short term philosophy. I feel with Maresca, the club are aiming long term (same way Burnley did with Kompany, Boro with Carrick), it feels like there could be a chance it goes really well, we get promoted at the first time of asking AND he could stay long term as our manager, cutting the mustard in the Premier League. Of course there's the chance it fails spectacularly but it could fail under anyone because we need such an overhaul. It is a mammoth task, but by the same token an incredible opportunity for someone to stamp their mark throughout the club from top to bottom. Out of everyone linked (forget Hutter and Potter etc, never realistic), it feels like they've gone for the right man. I hope I'm not proved wrong and our football club can return at the first attempt, but come what may, we get behind Maresca and the lads as we always do.
  20. Unsuccessful 34, joint application with a 29 so by the looks of it I'd have made it solo!
  21. Not meant for here I know but Barella is just different gravy, proper player. I've hoped a PL side would sign him for a while, he's class.
  22. You do realise we have people within our fanbase that use the clappers? 3 verses and a chorus is way beyond their limits. Ah crap, forgot the chair pun, most of them sit on their chair all game too. Yeah, chair puns, got this shit down..
  23. I saw 20 odd minutes of Kristiansen on Saturday and I'm already certain he's an upgrade on Thomas and will provide a new lease of life for Barnes.
  24. I, and we, miss that Ricardo BIG TIME.
  25. And to make it worse, 3 in the same game. Wrong year, didn't read it right!
