  1. All the talk in here about proper running shoes makes me think I probably shouldn't have ran in my astros that I play footy in each week! Any recommendations for a newbie runner?
  2. Completed my first ever 5k today, I'd been lurking in the background of this group seeing people post their times and achievements, trying to get inspired from you lot to be honest! I'd been wanting to do this for absolutely ages just not had the confidence to do it and I have a tendency to give up. I thought it would've been an embarrassing time, didn't even think I'd get under 30 minutes and got round in 27:58. Absolutely delighted.
  3. If he's "guessing" as you put it, in that situation, then he shouldn't be a linesman in the professional game or Sunday league ever again. That is as clear cut as you're ever going to see and if a trained linesman can't see that and call it correctly at the time, they need sacking.
  4. Yes and yes. The rooms look decent too albeit I've never stayed.
  5. Been to The Mallories a couple of times now and it's class for a Sunday Roast, not sure how it compares to some others as I don't get out much!
  6. Yep, pretty much nailed it. Shows you how much emphasis (myself included), that people put on majors rather than anything else. I think in more recent times as well there's just too many examples in majors where he should've won and didn't. The Open where he hit all 18 greens in reg and Cam Smith somehow beat him was the one that sticks with me. Obviously Bryson at the US Open too, I realise he had his own heroics but he only had the chance because of Rory letting him in again.
  7. Think I might join you (but at Barwell), the only thing that will stop me is my Dad, he loves going the City regardless of how they're doing. Also keeps us seeing each other regularly as well. Could be a tricky conversation, I need to try get him down Barwell before the season is out really, hope he enjoys it!
  8. Night Agent is great, new series coming this year as well
  9. Good points and I really wish he does get over the line somewhere, you sense if he gets over the line somewhere that isn't Augusta that'll help him break the duck there too. Out of those I'd be picking him at Quail, loves it there. Phenomenal player and has some incredible achievements, but if he retired tomorrow you'd sit there going, what could've been?
  10. Been to watch Barwell a couple of times recently and even though they've lost both games, it's been bloody enjoyable. Leave the house 15 mines before kick off, make it easily, few beers, decent footy, no VAR and few more beers after. Could easily drop the City to watch them full time with the way we are being ran.
  11. I understand the frustrating aspect of that entirely and of course sympathise. Just remember no progress was ever perfectly linear, sometimes we have to go backwards to come back and go even further forwards. I always relate it to the gym, some weeks you go and you've hit your target, others you go and you haven't and that's just life, there's no real explanation for it either which is probably the hard part. Rather than seeing it as a step back necessarily, try to view it as part of the process of growth and recovery. Hopefully by making a small change to how you view it, can keep your spirits up and keep you motivated to keep taking the steps you need to feel better, no matter how small they are.
  12. I don't know you of course, but I really hope you don't go through with it and you are still here with us. I've read your posts in here, along with others and to be honest, lurked in the background as it isn't my place as such and I'm not the best for advice but I just find it all fascinating and on top of all that this thread is just incredible to witness. The power of human kindness and spirit all coming together. I lost an uncle to suicide and it hurts, it still hurts. To think he felt there was no other option, in my mind at least there has to be an option and however small it may seem, a step in a better direction. Even if that step is just talking to a stranger, I'll happily be that for you, drop me a DM. Your family and your friends love you, they care for you and trust me, no matter how hard it has been they will always look out for you and help. I hope you hang on in there and take that one step in the right direction. Ask yourself, how can I improve my mindset? For me it's always exercise and being outdoors, go for a walk, clear your head. It really does work for me and I hope it works for you too. Let us know you are safe my friend.
  13. It genuinely doesn't matter who the manager is, you could put Pep in charge of this shower and they would continue to serve up the same shite. Why? Because they are lazy, they fold at the first sign of adversity and they can't stop making such dozy, basic errors at the back. If somehow we stay up then jesus christ I'd hate to have a season ticket at the other 3, because I've got one at the KP and it's eye bleeding stuff.
  14. Always love the line ups whoever is in it, even those I don't know because usually by the end of the series, they end up being the better contestants. I imagine 99% of people will have a greater TV, film knowledge than me though which is probably why I don't know people!
  15. Bloody great place, went last year. So many brilliant places, you'll have a great time, loved Gulfoss and the National Park, the black beach, lots of places to see. As something a bit different if you like darts, they have Europe's largest darts bar in central Reykjavik and its worth it just to see it.
  16. I use Charles Stanley as at the time it was good on charges, not really sure how it compares to the market now as I've just kept funding it over the years without keeping tabs. I've had it since about 2017, which is before my Moneybox one, they are different offerings though in terms of investment as I mentioned.
  17. Myself and the wife went to the Australian Open this year, it was amazing, everything you'd expect it to be. They've got a proper set up there, really good. We had tickets for Rod Laver evening session on day 1 of the AO and then Margaret Court Arena day session later that week, both brilliant. We saw Sabalenka, Zverev and Alcaraz which was great. Arguably the best was when we watched Jacob Fearnley on court 6 which was next to the courtside bar, he was playing Arthur Cazeux and there were an incredibly coordinated and vocal group of about 40 French fans chanting for him after every point. He won the first set and they were so annoying, made me root even harder for Fearnley and thankfully he came back and won. He spoke about the atmosphere in his post match interview and about how the court behind got moved to a different court because the atmosphere on ours was distracting the next game! Would highly recommend it if you ever get the chance!
  18. Holy moly you lucky git! So so jealous of that! Have an absolute blast my friend!
  19. I used Moneybox for a while when I first became aware of it, probably 2022. The investment options were too limited for me, just a cautious, balanced and growth option. This may have changed by now and to be honest I'd be a bit surprised if it hasn't. Whilst I loved the fact you could use the round ups feature to top up the portfolio with pounds and pence to keep things ticking over, I ended up reverting back to my main ISA and using that for my investing. Great for a younger audience who perhaps doesn't have much to invest and doesn't want to have to pick shares/funds themselves.
  20. Even at 2-0 down I was still fairly encouraged by the performance, yes we didn't create a lot, our ball into the final third really let us down for the majority of the game. BEK was particularly a guilty party in that regard, it just wasn't quite his day. Whilst Brighton controlled the game, I didn't feel like we were under too much threat and that is credit to RVN and the players working on the system. Thank God there is one now. Thought Kasey, Bilal, Soumare were all good again. Of course Vardy as usual coming up with the goods and a bit of the old never say die Leicester City coming back too! The composure on the 2nd from Vardy was phenomenal, 4 minutes earlier he's scored to get us back in it, has a clear cut chance to equalise and take the glory but instead sticks it on a plate for BDCR, pure class. Things are definitely looking up, tough fixtures ahead, but the boys are giving us something to get behind again!
  21. Played it myself, great track. Really enjoyed that area when we went up to Scotland. Got fortunate enough to be balloted out at the Old Course in October this year just after the Dunhill finished which was a surreal experience.
  22. Moyes. We need stabilising, survival is the key for the season. He can build the squad correctly and has a clear plan, something Cooper never had.
  23. Great in the winter, like hitting a ball down the M1 in the summer though. That being said I do enjoy it as a one off.
  24. Australia and Thailand trip coming together nicely, Big Bash T20 at the Gabba in Brisbane and Australian Open Tennis in Melbourne booked. Taking the wife for a romantic trip round the MCG too. Can't wait!
  25. How can you not? You have eyes right? Ambled around as usual, effort level comparable to me at 4-55pm on a Friday at work, offered absolutely feck all and got booked in 7 minutes including injury time. Clearly doesn't want to be here or get a place in the starting 11. Whilst the calm, composed, ball retaining Harry Winks sat on the bench.
