Not a fan of RM, but whatever he says some people put a negative slant on it. For instance, Saturday, when he called out the players for their poor start to the game he was criticised for throwing players under the bus 'The usual Martin blaming others, I heard'. Tonight defending some players when they weren't on top of their game, he gets criticised for that too. I think there is a narrative here, that some will just find fault no matter what he does or says. The reality is we are stuck with him and he won't change his style - I just hope we see more of the first 60 minutes from tonight, over a full game on most occasions from now on.

You can forget about him being sacked for the foreseeable future, because we can't afford to. Even if we have new owners, this isn't going to happen anytime soon. The owner and Rudders are either convinced this is how the game should be played and if so they need to ensure the right personnel are appointed on the playing front to at least give RM a chance to play his style adequately or they are just thick and haven't a clue what they are doing. My gut instinct tells me the latter.

Steep learning curve for him. Tried hard, but was easily bullied off the ball and tended to throw himself on the ground. There's no VAR in L1 so he'll need to get used to people roughing him up somewhat. Obviously not up to speed yet and a difficult game to assess him on as he got little service, but still feel a proven L1 striker is required.

Am I right in thinking deadline day is 1st September? If so, we have a game that day which could impact team selection if we are still accepting offers for players, particular those in the squad for the match.

But that's still likely to be more than he's going to get at a new club - he's League 1 standard at best and his wage compared to what other L1 clubs will pay will be significantly more at Leicester, even after two wage cuts, I would have thought. Just my opinion.

Why would he want to find a new club when he's getting paid handsomely here. Would you take a pay cut for a year, when at the end of this season he'll be a free agent and can pick up another signing on fee (albeit quite small and providing he can find a club that will take him on)

I don't think he's unintelligent and I think he can coach players, it's just his vision of how he wants to play is beyond the ability of L1 standard players and in the past he has been too stubborn to adapt. I think he's taken the job because he thought Leicester could get his career back on track as they are still a relatively big club and should gain promotion at the first attempt. However, unless he gets the right Centre Halves in who are confident ball players and a better no. 6 before the end of the window then his system will fall flat on its face. (He probably needs an additional striker too).

Already told you we can't afford to and even if we could who would take the job with players already recruited to suite RM. As for Top, he'll go when he gets the right deal for KP I assume. You're right he may not have time, but that's the reality of the situation. He's likely to see 5 or 6 more out and 3 or 4 more in before deadline day is over. How can players bed in when the team changes so often during early season.

It's the world we live in - no patience, instant gratification. I didn't want Martin, but he's here now. It's absolute madness to talk about giving him the boot after one game. Let's see where we are after a dozen or so games. Remember there was the O'Neill out brigade early in his tenure. Apart from anything else, we can't afford to sack him, he's on a three year contract. Who else would take this job on at the moment? We've also spent what little finances we have on supporting Martin with players he wanted at the club - would these be the players a new manager would require? Hopefully things will settle down, we've had a major overall of playing staff and we need time for things to bed in.

Only two loans left and I think one will definitely be a CB, the other probably a striker, but that's pure guess work. I suppose it depends who is still available on a free, what cheap options that are on the continent and how much we generate and are able to use should we be able to offload Souttar, Okoli, Faes, Mavadidi and Skipp or Choudhury.
