  1. Jesus, those would be a long daily commute from London
  2. So Winks should be gone tomorrow then?
  3. Wouldn't a loan fee of £5m and wages say £2m, gives us £7m to spend, which would equate to £28m on 4 year deals?
  4. If sold for £25m, what profit are we making? £4m? So if the loan fee is £5m and his wages £2m, then the profit is £7m for this year. If we sell for £22m next year, that's abetter deal than a straight £25m sale isn't it?
  5. I agree and perhaps the atmosphere is generated by the players giving it a go. Whilst I think Choudhury is a limited player, I thought, first half particularly, he made some very strong challenges that got the supporters engaged. This commitment and physicality often lifts the crowd and then this translates back to the players. I don't expect things to be perfect 4 games in under a new manager trying to play a different style, but I can accept that, if I see commitment, passion and energy from those on the pitch.
  6. I wonder if the Foxestalk tone will change opinion on Marti should we lose 3 in a row? I see this as a project and don't necessarily see promotion as the yardstick to measure progress by. If funds don't allow us to improve the squad, then the positives I'm looking for this season are a team that has spirit, desire and that never quit attitude and is progressing as a squad. The old saying, there is no i in team was never more true for some of our players.
  7. Thought he had his best game for a long time - stats seem to suggest so too. I don't particularly like Soumare, but credit where credit is due, he worked hard for 90 minutes yesterday.
  8. So we can all p1ss on it
  9. Think we could get away with loans, hopefully
  10. No, but if, so I doubt they'll start
  11. As a defender, below average, but always thought going forward he would likely provide several assists a season and scored some good goals. £10m is about twice I expected to get for him, particularly as he was in his last year of his contract. A real trier, honest lad and genuinely seemed passionate. Good luck to him in his future career.
  12. I agree, but on the flip side, you shouldn't expect 16 and 17 year olds to play the majority of games in what will be a long gruelling season.
  13. Josh Brownhill is a free agent. Wages could be a problem maybe, but he fits the bill as a proven box to box scoring midfielder.
  14. After what McAteer went for, who knows. He is a Belgian international - might squeeze £10m out of them. They paid €9m for Ndidi with only a year left on his contract.
  15. I though Romano said Besiktas had made an approach - hardly sounds as though it's a done deal.
  16. Good, honest hard working squad member, but you can't turn £12m + add ons down.
  17. We're reaching the point where we need to get those transfers going out done, if indeed we intend to reinvest in the squad (which I'm not convinced is going to happen). The last thing we need is a deadline day of panic buying and we end up with another 3 or 4 players of the ilk of Skipp, BDCR, Ayew and Edouard. I know sometimes there is a domino effect, but at present we are still stuck with too many players who have the wrong attitude, lacking commitment or not really good enough.
  18. Corrected for you
  19. Jesus, Ipswich must be really dumb. Don't they see how poor George Hirst is and now they want McAteer?
  20. Hope not. Levy will only want to pay £10m and insist we take some £20m dross player back in return.
  21. Too many external factors to make these bold statements. You may be correct, but Top could sell up, we get new owners and investors and are back on track within 3 years. Look at Birmingham, they are moving in the right direction after being in L1 last year. We are still an attractive proposition to potential ambitious owners as we have a good recent history.
  22. But therein lies the problem at our club. However, when the big boys appear to get away with all kind of fiddles, PSR has created a playing field that is even more favourable to the elite.
  23. It's doing exactly the opposite of what its intentions were for and has ended up ruining the game.
  24. Not that this is an excuse, as they are paid a king's ransom to play for us and to perform to the best of their ability, but I wonder if the players are as p1ssed off with the lack of communication regarding the direction of the club and uncertainty for our future?
