He must be an oldie as it's from Badfinger 'Come and get it' around 1970. Makes me an oldie too.
-
Very happy with Nicole on board in any capacity
-
They thumped Leeds 4 - 0 too

Whilst unlikely, if we did keep all the players we've got now, we'd get promoted again I reckon. Fatawu, Mavadidi, BEK would terrorise most defences.

6???? Sack after 3 months. Rinse and Repeat

Nearly correct with the last word

Seems just a rehash of what OPA posted earlier

If it is GON, I will give him my support. It's not his fault the clowns that run the club have appointed him. But I will be vocal with Rudkin and KP out during the first game. Hope those who attend will feel the same.
-
If Top is indeed trying to sell the club, he's making a real Sh1tshow of promoting it.
-
I wonder if it states on the terms and conditions of the application process, 'Must have failed in your last post or have little or no experience of management'
-
I don't mind if it is after the season starts. Get Chris Powell in and he and Andy King can oversee things on a temporary basis for me. The players should have enough about them to beat Sheff Wednesday and Preston in our opening fixtures.
-
Well pay him £5K a week more then on his contract
-
Just a thought - Would people be prepared to wait 10 days if it meant getting Rohl for definite or would it be better to have one of the dinosaurs in place this week?
-
Why does it take so long to identify a 'preferred candidate' and the fact they 'hope' rather than are confident of identifying a preferred candidate this week is pathetic. This could drag on into next week.
-
If Rohl wasn't in contention, there is absolutely no reason why one of the other candidates wouldn't have been appointed by now. Rohl, for me, is the preferred choice, has to be, but how long they are prepared to pursue him is debateable.

What never fails to amaze me is that when we know we are going to sack a manager, it then takes weeks to replace them. I know you can't tap up managers who are in employment officially, but I bet they are sounded out. It's like we sack a manager, then start thinking about who might be a suitable replacement. It's shocking that we are well into pre-season with no one in place. If they want Rohl and there is compensation to pay, pay it. Getting the right manager in is essential. We saw how last season turned out with the appointment of 2 inept managers. Spending a few million on Rohl has got to be better business than some of the stupid money we have thrown away on average players and their ridiculous wages.
-
I take your point, but Potter was gambling on his reputation taking on Leicester as a newly promoted Premier League side. I'd like to think Rohl sees this as an opportunity to develop and enhance his reputation. Leicester is still a big fish in the pond we are in at present.
-
If Rohl didn't want it we'd have some one in place now. There's no other reason why we'd have not appointed a manager out of work.
-
No chance it'll be a foreign dude we haven't heard of - Rudkin is unaware of the serious pool of managers available on the continent.

Jelle ten Rouwelaar (GK coach) leaves to Brighton

Rudkin will appoint Danny Ward as GK coach, paying compensation to Wrexham to buy him out of his contract -
I agree. The worry is like Potter last year they put all their eggs into one basket and then get rejected. I think it's clear with the delay that they want Rohl but it's not straightforward as many on here thought it would be.

One of the problems with modern life, everyone expects things completed yesterday. My hope, but with little faith, is that they are working to ensure they acquire their number one target, hopefully Rohl. If that process takes a little longer than expected due to legal issues, I'm happy to wait if this ensures we get the right man. The worry is that pursuing the right man and then they turn us down which appears to be a repeated issue at Board level and we end up with the same situation as last Summer. I just feel they want Rohl, as anyone out of work would have been appointed by now, wouldn't they?
-
Noticed this in the BBC Gossip column and wondered if he was going their as an assistant to Andrews or as their U21 coach. Perhaps it would definitely rule out any Rohl rumours going their if the latter and maybe Pedersson too? Arsenal have lost their under-21s manager Mehmet Ali to Brentford.

I have to say I feel sorry for those who divulge possible inside information. They are are met with excitement and enthusiasm one minute, yet vilified if things don't turn out as they suggest within 24 hours. I think we all like to get excited with potential news that affects our club, whether it be accurate or not. I do think most who offer inside information do it with good faith (Sean from Enderby aside) and it does make the threads more exciting and gives you hope or despair for a while.
