  1. I think Brownhill (if we are lucky enough to get him) will fill the KDH roll when we were last in the Championship. Unfortunately, I can see Soumare been given Wilf's role.
  2. His touch around the box must be decent if he scored with a lot of girls last year?
  3. On today's showing I'd keep Winks over Skipp, but I don't suppose we can sell him for the kind of fee required.
  4. Also those teams playing them should they subsequently fold, will end up playing one extra game, which could have implications regarding injuries and schedules.
  5. Would love see our centre backs chip in with some goals this season just like Walsh and Elliott did. Okoli has the power and size to really attack the ball in the opposition's penalty area.
  6. I appreciate Fiorentina played their second string until 60 mins, but that will be similar standard to the majority of Championship teams we face. Even with their top players on, I thought the teams were evenly matched. What I did like, irrespective of the opposition, was that there appeared to be an understanding of how we want to play and I thought the pressing was very good. Only concern for me is the midfield of Skipp and Soumare. Whilst they did ok today, I think this is an area that requires strengthening.
  7. I actually thought Soumare had a decent game today, a few wayward passes, but better energy. He won't be allowed to stroll around with this manager.
  8. I'm going to support my team and new manager. Will make my feelings known about the board at the match.
  9. Think he is going to Charlotte, USA, unless the deal has broken down.
  10. I think with Winks it's not a straight forward case that he should have to stay overnight. If he arrives for work on time and puts in the work, then I don't see the problem. I drove 90 minutes to work everyday for 30 years and was never late of my own making. I wonder how many here would want to do a days work, then be made to stay away overnight from your young family? I'm obviously not party to the discussions between RVN and Winks, but I'm not sure you can change a contract an insert new rules regarding terms and conditions of employment without legal agreement.
  11. I know some on here have lost patience with Winks after last season, but I thought he put in a pretty solid half today.
  12. Miles ahead of where we were this time last pre season
  13. What I was alluding to, and perhaps I didn't say it very well, was, I'd have thought a captain would have to be a regular starter on ability and I haven't seen evidence past or present that suggests Hamza should be a regular starter.
  14. He also gave it to Choudhury as well and whilst I appreciate he's been a Leicester a while, he's hardly captain material IMO. If he stays, I'd go with Ricardo. Winks was good last time out in the Championship. Would be happy with him as vice captain, even though he let himself down somewhat last season. Be interesting to see who MC sees as the leader of the pack.
  15. I know you're just having a laugh, but Robbie Keane is Irish, I believe.
  16. Yes, I get that, but he could be given the Director of Polo role instead. He's fully qualified as he knows nothing about polo, just like his knowledge of football.
  17. Unless your Enzo. Won the league with us, Champions League in first season with Chelsea and World Club cup final. Not bad for some one with little or no experience.
  18. Seems to have a very intelligent understanding of how he expects his teams to play and adapt. Just hope the players are skilful enough to take on board his ideas.
  19. Of the realistic managers who are a) available b) would come to us I think either Rohl of Cifuentes are probably the best of the bunch, particularly if we are looking to develop youth. I don't think whoever was appointed would get 100% support on here, but I do feel he has the Enzo vibe about him in that he has a clear plan of how he'll want us to play and hopefully that will be something the players buy into, as I think under Cooper particularly, and RVN they didn't have a clear direction of what they were supposed to be doing.
  20. I'll take your word for it - I couldn't see too much from my end of the ground. But yes you're correct, the score did flatter us. They also beat us at home when we were in the Championship and I thought they were well organised that day and played some good football against us.
  21. Faes did score a worldy apparently, but no one could see it
  22. Fiorentina is at the KP
  23. Yes, but as already been posted, they played their reserves virtually, we went full strength.
  24. You have to look at the standing of each club. Were they a strong team in the league they were in? Had Cooper or RVN managed a 40% win rate last season that would have been deemed very good. It will be interesting to see what his win rate will be at the end of this season, coaching one of the better teams in the league!
