  1. It was - he was out for 4 months
  2. Reminded me of the first game of the season v Coventry, last time we were in the Championship. Took a long time to break them down and it was a somewhat poor first half performance too. Think the next three weeks are crucial. Lose Winks and BEK without comparable replacements and we will struggle to mount a promotion push. Still would like to move Soumare on and get Brownhill in. What I did like today, was the manager was prepared to make changes that affected the game.
  3. Apart from the Daka header - that was some save.
  4. I don't like the Summer transfer window as a relegated club. It starts with you having a squad that should be too good for the league, but it only takes the vultures to come and take 3 or 4 of your best players and then you are scrambling to pick up decent replacements. In addition to Ndidi and Hermanson, if we lost BEK and one of our starting wingers, all of a sudden, the team looks decidedly weaker.
  5. Don't like being too critical of other teams centre forwards just yet. Let's wait and see what ours offer. Unless we buy someone decent, Ayew and Daka are not going to terrorise many of the better defences.
  6. Apart from a striker, and if we could somehow persuade Brownhill to come in on a free, I wouldn't buy anyone else, just dip into the loan market for 2 or 3 other players. I'd like Toby Collyer here for a year on loan to start with.
  7. Your mood in 10 words? Positive. Think we've acquired a decent manager Where will we finish? Hard to say, depends on points deduction and players leaving or arriving. How many points will we be deducted? 8, reduced to 5 on appeal Who will be our most important player? BEK, if he stays Who will be top scorer? New Striker What are you most excited about? Seeing us fitter and more organised and being on the font foot more What are you most worried about? Selling BEK and not replacing him with someone as suitable What’s one thing you most want to see this season? The team week in week making progress Which player is going to surprise us? Ayew Which player do you most want out the door? Not against any leaving, but a few have had their chance - perhaps time to say goodbye to Daka, Soumare, Faes, Vestergaard. Which player linked with a move are you most desperate to keep? BEK Will Martí Cifuentes still be the manager this time next year? Yes, unless he is poached by a top club after an amazing season
  8. £6m would have to include add ons I'd have thought
  9. I did say people would have a differing opinion. If you're beating a team convincingly I think there comes a point where the score becomes meaningless. I remember when I was at school we beat a team at rugby by 100 points - it was a great feeling at that moment in time, but didn't provide us with the test we needed, so the following game we were all a bit cocky and subsequently lost a game we should have won. As I say it's just an opinion, no doubt I'll come away from KP euphoric if we win by a cricket score, but I'm not convinced it's the test we need. I'd prefer us to win 3 or 4 nil and it be a somewhat sterner test.
  10. It might be in 9 months time
  11. I'm all for winning 5 or 6 nil, but if we are getting into the realms of double figures, it would feel a little false for me. I appreciate it would be a great lift for the team and fans to have a massive win. As I say, it's just my own feeling and I appreciate others will want us to win by the highest score possible. It could however, also be an anti climax where we scrape a 1 - 0 victory because they deploy a low block effectively and we haven't figured out how to break that down yet.
  12. Like I said, my opinion wouldn't appeal to everyone. For me beating a team in Sheffield's position 15 - 0 (should it happen) wouldn't give me any satisfaction.
  13. I know this might not appeal to everyone and at the end of the day goal difference might come into it at the end of the season, but if the scenario plays out that we are scoring at will against Sheff Wednesday, I hope we show a bit of humility and ease off. I'm all for breaking records, but should that opportunity arise, I feel it would be somewhat of a false statistic. Yeah, win comfortably, if we can, but let's not humiliate a fellow Championship team who are struggling through the ineptitude of a terrible owner.
  14. Apart from a striker, I would hope instead of buying, we'd look at the loan market (I think we can have 4). Toby Collyer would be a great addition in midfield.
  15. It will be an undisclosed fee - so we'll all still be guessing
  16. The only one doing loads of talking and organising on Saturday, from what I could see and hear, was Vestegaard. Not saying he should be captain, but there didn't seem much other leadership on the pitch. Perhaps as others have said, we don't have a natural leader, particularly one who would be considered a starter every week.
  17. I don't disagree with you, he's been a poor signing and for me, like you, Winks offers more. All I'm suggesting is that when we bought him, his energy was supposed to be his main asset.
  18. I though his energy was supposed to be his main asset?
  19. I think Brownhill (if we are lucky enough to get him) will fill the KDH roll when we were last in the Championship. Unfortunately, I can see Soumare been given Wilf's role.
  20. His touch around the box must be decent if he scored with a lot of girls last year?
  21. On today's showing I'd keep Winks over Skipp, but I don't suppose we can sell him for the kind of fee required.
  22. Also those teams playing them should they subsequently fold, will end up playing one extra game, which could have implications regarding injuries and schedules.
  23. Would love see our centre backs chip in with some goals this season just like Walsh and Elliott did. Okoli has the power and size to really attack the ball in the opposition's penalty area.
