Might go under the radar because you expect it of him but the first touch to put it perfectly in his path is top class. Facundo's ball just a tad too slow but he makes it work perfectly with that touch to drag it forward.

Ange Postecoglu said after the game that he was talking to the medical staff. I saw it happen live, looked like he was out before he hit the deck and it looked like he faceplanted the grass. Really nasty one. Just from a clash of heads by the looks of it.

Leicester 1- 1 Tottenham Post Match Thread

The passes through the lines from Winks and Faes are absolutely brilliant and exactly what we lacked in the first half. These lads have the quality they just needed to be brave on the ball. -
Every internet source (never 100% accurate but also never far from the truth) has him between about 15k and 25k a week. Looks like he agreed reduced terms on his last deal with Palace where he was on about £35k a week before.

At scoring and assisting goals? Yes. He is undoubtedly poor at that. But so was Shinji Okazaki and i'd wager you love him as much as I do. Point is that there is much more to being a striker than simply putting the ball in the net. He's not the sort of player I would want to see us starting every single game but he's got an excellent attitude, he's got all the experience in the world, on very small wages and offers us something completely different to any striker on the bench. As I said to the bloke next to me at the game last night. I wished we could have brought a player like Ayew off the bench when Spurs were turning the screw. I don't think the people in this thread realise how good he is at winning the ball back high up the pitch and then getting fouled. He's mastered it. Only Saka won more tackles in the Premier League last season (66 to Ayew's 65) and Saka played about 500 minutes more. He was also fouled 93 times last season which shows how good he is at keeping the ball and getting his team up the pitch. Only Bruno Guimares at Newcastle fouled more but he had about 1k more minutes played. So no, he's not shit. He offers a valuable set of skills for a team that will be pinned in a lot this season when we've got 10-15 minutes to go. For £4m and relegation clauses for the same deal he has at Palace (just shy of £20k a week) I really don't think you can go wrong. 🎣

He's a diamond. Can see him ending up at one of the very big clubs for a lot of money.

The undisputed goat. What a man.

Exactly the team i'd play too. I think a bit harsh on Wilf because I thought he was excellent in the 2nd half last night. -
and the rest!

Facundo Buonanotte joins on loan - Official

Just the right amount of flair and aggression. Very solid debut. If he can get the end product to go with it he'll be worth a fortune to Brighton. -
Por que no los dos?

Exactly what i'm saying.

Agenda? What would that be? Sorry I don't think you've understood where i'm coming from. He was great when he got on the ball. We know Mavididi is a quality player in that regard. But as the lone striker when we're holding on for a point we need someone that will hold the ball and get us up the pitch and Mavididi simply is not that sort of player. Plenty of times he was asked to make runs down the wings and he and Soumare were just sat in the centre circle not showing for the ball. Mavididi should start but we need options off the bench that will come on to help us see games out. For 4m and 25k a week Ayew offers that. No he won't take it round three players and put in a wicked cross to break a side like Forest/Ipswich down like Mavididi was but against clubs like Spurs/Liverpool/Brighton that will make us suffer off the ball, we need players that can get the ball and look after it. We do not have a player like that.
-
I think he held the ball up once.
-
Exactly. Mavididi proved that he's not the man for it last night.

Singing section determined to boo him but I felt like the rest of the ground was quite mixed. Most ignored, some clapped, some booed. Feel like he was the only reason we didn't finish dead last in that relegation season to be honest! -
In what way? Last night would have been absolutely perfect for Ayew to come off the bench and win freekicks up the pitch. Obviously he's not a flashy player who is going to score 20 goals for us but that doesn't mean he'd be without value. He's got all the experience in the world and would come here for next to nothing. I think it would be a very smart signing, provided we can also get a more proven goalscorer in alongside him.
-
Thats always been the issue with our Wout. Undoubtedly a quality defender but lacks the ability to think at times. There was a point in the first half where he chased for the ball up to their right back position leaving us quite exposed for instance.
-
It's a good signing if we can actually get some attackers in before the deadline. if we can't then I'll think we've overpaid and put too much emphasis on a position in which we're well stocked. I think he'll surprise a few fans in how good he is. I think he improves a lot of teams in this league, including us.
-
It was more that our team would have one 8, one 10 and one 6 as opposed to him being in a pivot.

Tottenham (H) - Mon 19 Aug 8pm - Pre-Match Thread

I think it'll be very similar to Ispwich's game against Liverpool. First half will be tight and there will be a good atmosphere but we'll run out of steam while Spurs go from strength to strength and see us off in the 2nd half. 0-2. Son with both. Hermansen to have a good game. -
They'll turn that down. I'd imagine they'd need to go north of 35-40 to get him.
-
Carvalho went for like £35m didn't he?
-
We signed Faes from Ligue 1.
