  1. Some weren't quite as I expected! Might help a few of you.
  2. He took one and it went about 30 yards over the bar.
  3. Got no issue with it presuming he's not seen as the goalscorer we lack. Offers a tremendous amount off the bench or starting in the tougher matches. The only worry I have is contract length given he's 33 in a few weeks time. 2 years would be fine by me or 2 with an option of a 3rd. Think too many are looking at this as being uninteresting or unexciting and I get that because he doesn't score or assist enough but honestly a lot of you are in for a shock at just how effective he is at releasing pressure for his team. He's a ****ing nightmare to play against when you're chasing a game and bringing him off the bench in scenarios like we saw on Monday night will get him a lot of plaudits from even the most staunch Foxestalker. So yeah, he's not a goalscorer but his value is in how good he is at defending from the front. The main thing now is to make sure we get that guaranteed goal threat that can play in the 9 or the 10.
  4. No, but we're obviously not signing Ayew for his goals and assists.
  5. Yeah but after that successful loan it was probably just accepted that he wouldn't keep him in the Championship as opposed to Cooper not wanting him.
  6. Cooper became Swansea manager in the summer of 2019. Ayew had spent the previous season on loan at Palace.
  7. There's nothing to suggest he's on anything more. He signed a new deal in 2023 and by all accounts took a wage cut in exchange for an additional 2 years.
  8. Obviously he'll be a squad player. 30k a week is good pay rise for him. The worry is the contract length we'll offer.
  9. Which will mean we'll still be a Premier League club next season.
  10. To anyone that thinks Alan Nixon has a clue. I bet you cn't wait to watch Graham Potter's blue army line up with the front three of Soule, Ayew and McAtee. Shame we lost Iversen to Derby though.
  11. You won't have to worry about it if you're not going to bother though.
  12. Exactly. He's pretty much the perfect striker for a relegation threatened team to bring off the bench in games when we're holding onto points or to start in seriously tough places to go. We absolutely do need a genuine number 9 that can be relied upon to score 10-15 goals though.
  13. Stay at home then. That attitude will not be missed.
  14. With Southampton and Forest playing each other, Ipswich away at Man City, Everton away at Spurs and Bournemouth playing Newcastle it's perhaps a good opportunity to get 3/4 points ahead of these clubs early doors.
  15. I think it'll be unchanged but I have no issues with the likes of Ricardo, Mavididi or Skipp coming into the team.
  16. In addition to those already mentioned I'll go with the Mahrez goal at the Etihad which is pretty much the exact moment I realised we were actually in a title race and had a bloody good chance of winning it.
  17. That Broja deal isn't as bad as it looks. BBC reporting that they have to agree the contract with Broja at the end of the season so if he's shite but they stay up then they'll just offer an insultingly low wage. If he plays well and keeps them up then £30m is probably worth it.
  18. It's in keeping with his entire tenure as chairman.
  19. No issue with this but i'd like to see him go on loan this season to a Championship club that will start him every week.
  20. I like him too but I think he's a bit more of a left winger rather than an actual number 9. With Mavididi and Reid I don't think we need another for the price he would cost. Would sooner we spent a small amount of the budget on Ayew who can play in all 4 forward positions off the bench and then go all out for a proper number 9 to alleviate some of the pressure on Vardy because currently I worry who will score goals for us if he gets a knock. He was clutching his hamstring after his big miss last night.
  21. Think it decended into a juvenile game between the booers and the clappers as to who could make the most noise. I ignored him for the game but gave him a little clap as he went off. I did appreciate him walking around the pitch at the end. But it's all done now. I don't think we need to acknowledge him next season.
  22. The only fairly impressive part of that video is the trick to get past the defender at 36 seconds in. Can only assume that clips is cut short because he ****ed up the pass afterwards though.
