Big couple of weeks now for Martin. If he thinks that this standard is acceptable from the so-called established pros then we're in for a ****ing long season. Mavididi and Reid wandering about and offering nothing cannot be accepted and the sheer lack of physicality and ability from Thomas is a disgrace for a club with out ambitions. Willing to give Cullen a bit of time because he's new here and not tainted yet but he hasn't done much to quell my scepticism of his transfer.

Braybrooke, Alves and Joseph looking solid and exciting. Same old shit from Thomas, Reid and Mavididi. I expect that Chaplin McFarlane and Watson will have no problem getting into this team.

Joseph looking really busy. Very similar to the last JJ. Wondering how you get him and Aluko in the same team.

Some of these lads need 4/5 touches to get simple passes under control. It's amazing how far we've fallen.

A shame that Cullen, McFarlane (injured?), Watson and Burns aren't getting more minutes considering aside from Cullen none of them have played this pre-season. Bit miffed that Alves and Braybrooke weren't given better squad numbers either. I think they should have had 11 and 6.

About time the club had a proper commercial director. Premier League clubs left us for dust a few years ago whilst we were stuck in the mud. There was talk of Leicester breaching the big six 5 years ago.... but to give some of you an idea of just how far behind we are, Arsenal have over 30 commercial partners listed on their website whilst we have 6 (and one of those is King Power).

You have to have a striker that occupies the back four in order for possession football to succeed. Even basic defences can sit in their shape and be fine when a team just wants to shift the ball around. The top teams have always had a top striker and on the occasion where those teams have a striker that's a bit below that top standard, they always have someone that's a pain in the arse to mark. Vardy used to virtually never see the ball yet he'd constantly be on the minds of the centre halves. We need someone that's horrible to mark for the same reasons. Someone who can battle with a pair of centre halves and be ready. Someone with a bit of physicality about them and a good finisher and they'll score a lot of goals.

Will we have the squad numbers released tonight? 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 all available. Suspect Aluko (2), Braybrooke (6), Burns (7), Chaplin (8), Bristric (9) and Alves (11).

Souttar being captain has done a lot for my expectations this season. I was sure we'd just lazily hand it down to Choudhury and standards wouldn't change as a result. Really looking forward to watching this team now. Hopefully those that are tainted with the last 5 years can sit from the stands and watch how it's supposed to be done.

We did well to have Chelsea's pants down with Fofana but he was playing to a top-end Premier League standard as a teenager. It's no wonder they were keen. But every other player went for a price less than that of which they were valued at at the time of injury.

I get that these things take time but it's a bit ridiculous that the season starts tomorrow with no genuine number 9 in the squad given we've known for well over a year now that we'd be going into this season without a striker.
