They're not saying it due to his ability. They're madly in love with him because he was a big part of the only period of minor success they have had in 30 years. A better example is Lloyd Dyer. It would be like saying that Dyer is going to be fantastic for any club wanting him when we released him. Only Burns is on a much higher wage, is older and is coming off the back of a horrible injury.

Our future hinges on the club paying Premier League money for players that can't cut it in the Championship.

He needs to be the same player he was 5/6 years ago and there are huge ifs, buts and maybes surrounding that because of his injuries. Regardless he's on a Premier League squad player's wage so he needs to be at a high level.

We'd have given the same reviews for Marc Albrighton when he went on loan to WBA. Burns is a huge fan favourite in Ipswich, doesn't necessarily mean he's still at a high level.

Or maybe they could fit a few of those criteria? Rather than absolutely none.

Wish people would stop claiming that the financial side of football is being negative. It's reality and it's about time a lot of you came to terms with how bad deals like this are for the future of Leicester City.

Easy to say in hindsight but in 2016 Haaland was 16. He'd only played for Byrne reserves in the Norwegian 3rd tier

Echoing the sentiment re. Jordan. I get that the last 4/5 seasons has been pretty much hell for Leicester fans but surely you've got to have something to look forward to. I know that the pod has risen in popularity whilst the club has plunged to new depths and that a cathartic moan is likely a large reason for that but it doesn't seem healthy to immediately look to the absolute worst possible outcome for everything. I don't mean to sound like i'm burying my fingers in my ears whilst shouting "it'll be fine, it'll be fine" but there are some things worth looking forward to. Mostly the fact we've gotten rid of about 90% of the players we all detest and that finally it looks like we'll be able to enjoy the academy products at a level they should be able to do well at. Hope he's alright and i'm sure he is. I've enjoyed both Charlie Methven episodes. I like how real he is about the position the club is in. I think that the club would have you believe everything is rosy and the pod would have you believe we're 5 seconds away from going bust but the reality is more in the middle (admittedly, much closer to the pod's view on things) and he's very good at pointing things out to us in a completely neutral and professional manner. It's clear we're in for a rough time with off the pitch business but i'm really excited for the new season and having a more positive relationship with the players. I think we'll start to feel more like a club again if that were to happen. I just hope that the fans keep their minds focussed on getting rid of this ownership and board, even if we're flying in the league.

I get that but I don't think we were relegated because we were playing Skipp. IMO when we played with Skipp holding, James in a box to box role and Mukasa or Page in an attacking role we looked fine. More than enough to be a mid table finish. All three roles worked. But there's no world where a 36 year old Oliver Norwood starts for us. It just wouldn't happen.

Last season's two central midfielders in the League 1 team of the season were Oliver Norwood and Owen Bailey. I'm not sure people realise the level we're going to be playing at. This is an absolutely dreadful league. The standard is dog muck and anyone that can take the ball on the turn and get the ball moving forward will look like Xavi Hernandez.

I don't know. I think that Rudkin/McCarron will take whatever is perceived as a win in a financial sense. I don't think we'll turn down a move for him that makes sense financially. I just personally think we should if it's only a minor gain because he's essentially our only midfielder.

Surely we've got strikers coming in then? I was sure we'd go into the season with Bristric as the first choice number 9 with Otchere and Opoku on the bench. To be 4 days away from the 1st game of the season without a striker is pretty criminal. Especially considering we've known since at least January that we would go into the summer with Daka and Ayew leaving.

I suspect he wants Skipp doing the donkey work for Braybrooke and will want us to get Braybrooke on the ball in the opposition half as often as possible. The worry is that Skipp has zero defensive awareness. He's a very hard worker and (if he's in the right position) a good tackler but the problem we had a lot last season was attacking midfielders running off of his shoulder.
