I feel like Perez was a mid-table Premier League player when we signed him and that's what we got. I'm not saying that he was a fantastic signing. I just really disagree that he's a top 5 worst LCFC signing. He doesn't even get close to the likes of Soumare, Slimani, Mills, Wise, Praet, Musa, Benkovic, Coady, Silva, Bennett, Winks, Vestergaard, Okoli, Souttar, Kramaric, Akinbiyi, Daka, Cannon, Inler or Ward. That's 20 without really thinking about it.

I think though if we'd played to Perez's strengths (or if we'd continued to be a mid-table Premier League club as we expected) then we'd look back on his time here as a success. We signed him because our Director of Football is useless and there's never continuity between him the manager. For the record, Perez is better than at least half of that list you gave and the others weren't as Premier League proven/ready as Perez was.

Great signing for Everton by the way. Hackney, KDH and Garner is a really decent English midfield that can grow together for the next few years. I nearly said it was a really decent young English midfield but KDH is 27 now Mental that.

I don't see how Perez can be put up there in "worst ever deal" territory. Scored double figures at Premier League level in the 2 seasons before we bought him for Newcastle. Our problem with him is that we signed him to be the Okazaki replacement but played him out wide on the right. He's always been more of a 2nd striker. I always thought he was a grafter and was handed a short straw here.

Are we saying that managers don't have the right to cancel their contract then? He gave up 3.5 years of his contract and loyalty bonuses to resign. Surely he's well in his rights to do that? Sounds like he's even gone out of his way to pay compensation to Chelsea.

"Deterred by his £15m value" means "**** off we're not paying that". We will have to take a loss on him. I can't see us breaking £10m. Even then I'd have your arm off. No hard feelings for him personally in the same way I will for the likes of Ayew, Winks etc He's just not worth the money we paid. If we got him for his actual value at the time I think we'd be happier. Putting £25m on the table for such an average midfielder is simply a sackable offence. I struggle to think of a time we've paid more than £3-4m on a midfielder that was worse than him. I can only think of Soumare.

No way he goes through a 46 game season without mutilating some poor sod's tibia. All to show the fans how much he cares. It's a certainty that he'll get a suspension.

There's "not done much" and then there's 10 goals in 91 career games at 25 years old.

Ultimately I think our season is going to be extremely predictable. I think we'll come out of the gate looking like the best team to ever step foot in League 1 and then in September/October time we'll go to some shithole and comfortably lose 2-0 which will set the blueprint on how to beat Russell Martin's Leicester. Martin to be sacked when we fall out of the play off positions in December.

Was driving past the north shore of Rutland Water the other night and there was a helicopter circling above with a lot of blue flashing lights on the bank. Hoping to not read similar news to this but i'd imagine it would have already made the news by now if it was as bad as it looked.

I think he's a long way from Dempsey. Obviously hard to compare but Tim Howard played about 400 games in the Premier League Pulisic is a decent player but it's more that he's arrived during a boom in popularity of football in America. Big fan of his middle name being "mate" though
