We were fed a lot of lies that summer to be fair. We were regularly told that we were fine with PSR because we'd met the deadline at the end of June having had sold KDH and lost Maresca with a big compensation package. So I thought that a few million on an experienced head leaving a club that were sad to see him go was decent business. Very wrong

I was somewhat alright with Ayew because I thought that he was being signed to come off the bench for 5 minutes to win fouls and relieve pressure and that he was only on a two year deal. Mad to think he's played 80 games for us though. I do take solace in the fact that I was one of the only ones on here that thought Zaha was going to be a bad signing though Got ripped to shreds on here for that.

There's been very few games that hasn't had jeopardy of some sort. A lot of the tiny nations have stepped up. The big players have largely performed. England were class. The host teams have all performed well. The only problem has been kick off times (that's to be expected) but I've enjoyed waking up and watching the highlights on the iPlayer without knowing the scores of overnight games.

Ultimately the cost of living crisis has been the driving factor. People are pissed off at how crap life in the UK is these days. It's a case of the grass is never greener. Life is shit under Labour, it was shit under the Tories and it will be shit after the next election under Reform.

Significant boardroom changes. Reverting to scouting for untested players with excellent stats. Significant minutes for academy players. A comfortable promotion. Reasonable success in the FA Trophy. Russell Martin showing he has learned from past mistakes. A significant turnaround of playing squad. As many of the current squad out of the door as possible. A breakthrough of at least 5 players that could perform to a high standard in the Championship in 2027/28. A meaningful relationship between fans and players. I don't think any of that is unreasonable. In fact I'd say that a large part of those should be the minimum.

Would be a really good signing.

Beggars can't be choosers. Goalkeepers that don't have the odd howler in him simply do not exist at this level.

I've only been watching football on the tele and it's been fantastic to fall in love with football again. Caught a serious case of World Cup fever and it's been so needed after years of misery following Leicester. Nice to feel excited by goals again. Buzzing for tomorrow night.

One question i've had re. the American tipping culture... Are you expected to tip the person that pours your beer at a football stadium? I can understanding tipping someone that serves your table or even the person that brings beer to your seat. But if you go downstairs and queue for a pint are you expected to leave a tip?

Not even slightly. Felt natural and not forced. You could see the connection between the fans and the players. Just look towards Arsenal if you want cringeworthy.

The fans that can afford it (or even just those that can get a visa) are loving it. It was always going to present as a good world cup because America has the infrastructure needed to host it properly. Even if pitches are terrible. But only the good and the great or those that have spent their last penny have got tickets. FIFA's greed goes hand in glove with America's "big number good" mindset.

15k attendance will be a regular occurrence if we're not playing well again.
