Removing players I am sure won't be here next season (Winks, Faes, Coulibaly, Fatawu and Monga) I think this is the current squad.... But this is the point. CdK is playing at the top end in a top 5 league whilst Tim Ream is plodding about in the MLS at the ripe age of 62. Youri Tielemans is arguably one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Matt Freese has only ever played in America Pulisic might be the only decent American player but he's no leader and has too much thrown on him. His goal against Senegal was his first for his country since 2024. USA had a team willing to try it's hardest and a country cheering them on but ultimately you put a team with the likes of Trossard, Tielemans, Doku, Courtois, de Ketelaere etc in front of them and they were always going to struggle.

It'll be a whinge about being asked where the £5m donation has gone. He thinks he's above all of this sort of public scrutiny despite being a Member of Parliament.

Ultimately USA surpassed the neutral's expectations and I don't think anyone will blame Americans for getting a bit giddy in thinking they'd get past a strong team. They topped a group with teams of similar quality to them but were always going to lose to a stronger team. Vibes will only ever get you so far.

We're not going to shift enough players out though. Sorry mate but it's going to be Mavididi and BDCR on the wings, Vestergaard at the back, Hamza right back, Skipp and Winks in midfield etc. You say that you're yet to see any evidence of sufficient finances to bring players in but I'm yet to see any evidence that the club has learned from it's mistakes. These players are all going to leave at the end of their contracts. I think we'll see those players listed above with a few free agents alongside a couple of 500k-1m signings and a load of loans. We'll have these exciting young players on the bench or in the 21s whilst we've got the next bone idle Chelsea loanee just because we never learn and we keep pretending we're above the situation we're in. If we were in the Premier League you can guarantee that the likes of Hutchinson, Gray, Aluko, Joseph, Richards, Wilson-Brown, Briggs etc would all be marked as loans for clubs in League 1.

I'd be amazed if Pep took that job. I suspect he'll just take a year or two out and assess as Klopp has done.

Look at the people that ITV are putting on their punditry teams versus the BBC. I'm not suggesting it should just be a jolly but the BBC have always been in the host country for a World Cup in the past and they have offices in New York. The BBC could easily pay for it by dropping the miserable Wayne Rooney and picking up one of the many pundits in New York with a bit of energy. It's similar to how the Ashes coverage on TNT is shite because every break in play and they go back to some dreary pundits clearly shattered back in England in a studio with no sense of the occasion or atmosphere. It's unreasonable to expect the BBC to have a full team at every match but I don't see why they couldn't have a base to work from as ITV have done. The BBC coverage does not feel like they're a part of the world cup.

Which is why it won't be a team of 60-70% academy lads mate. Or at least it won't be that many without previous experience.

£10m + £2.5m with a sell on clause is fantastic business for us, no doubt about it. I've got no doubt that Man City will see this as a huge bargain but unfortunately we're just not in a position to get anything out of a player like him. He needs to grow with great players around him. I'm absolutely convinced that he'll come out of his shell a bit there too. Most English fans have said how gracious the Mexican fans have been in defeat. Lots of shirt, scarf and flag swapping outside the Azteca. I thought there'd be a lot of trouble for anyone in an England kit but I think their fans realised the game was won fairly.

I think this has been the first time that ITV have completely outclassed the BBC at a tournament. They have ****ed up by not travelling to the States because every major pundit is out there. Having said that, Joe Hart has been so good.

I feel like Perez was a mid-table Premier League player when we signed him and that's what we got. I'm not saying that he was a fantastic signing. I just really disagree that he's a top 5 worst LCFC signing. He doesn't even get close to the likes of Soumare, Slimani, Mills, Wise, Praet, Musa, Benkovic, Coady, Silva, Bennett, Winks, Vestergaard, Okoli, Souttar, Kramaric, Akinbiyi, Daka, Cannon, Inler or Ward. That's 20 without really thinking about it.

I think though if we'd played to Perez's strengths (or if we'd continued to be a mid-table Premier League club as we expected) then we'd look back on his time here as a success. We signed him because our Director of Football is useless and there's never continuity between him the manager. For the record, Perez is better than at least half of that list you gave and the others weren't as Premier League proven/ready as Perez was.

Great signing for Everton by the way. Hackney, KDH and Garner is a really decent English midfield that can grow together for the next few years. I nearly said it was a really decent young English midfield but KDH is 27 now Mental that.
