Leicester v Middlesboro - Tuesday 4th November
AKCJ replied to beepee1984's topic in Leicester City Forum
James is a fantastic box-to-box midfielder for this level. He effort and determination is fantastic and he's the only one interested in moving the ball forward quickly. He should be backed up with a proper defensive midfielder. It's Harry Winks that is offering absolutely nothing. Morris and Hackney will run all over him tomorrow. -
Last time the Nelson chant got going people near me were still saying Ben Marshall

Only Coady and McAteer (although i'd play him ahead of Fatawu at the moment) doesn't start every week for us from that lot. The parachute payments give you a massive chance to bounce back but I think that transfer window has condemned us to 5 years in this league at a minimum. -

Exactly. I don't think there's a single time i've ever seen Vestergaard start a game for us and I've been happy about it. ... says it all when he's probably been our best player this season. -

I agree, but we do have to name 11 players The swamp didn't get drained. We only sold/released our best players. -

But what are the other options? The other options are bringing in Hamza, Soumare or Skipp into midfield to let James play out of position and changing Ayew for Daka or Carranza who look like competition winners at this point. -

As I say, I don't think i've seen the lad play. But one thing that needs to chance is we need to start backing our wingers up with fullbacks. Sick of seeing Ricardo hiding in midfield and the left back holding Vestergaards hand. -
I think it'll be much closer than it has been for a long time down there but I don't think the final score will look that way. I can see it being something like 3-1 or 4-1. It will feel close without being close. I think our bowlers will be fine. Providing we don't get an unfortunate run of injuries (entirely possible with the likes of Archer, Wood and Stokes) I think we'll have enough to take 100 wickets in the series. My worry is what will the likes of Pope, Crawley and Bethell bring to the table and will the likes of Duckett, Root and Brooks perform like we know they can. I'm not sure. I can see individual performances here and there but I don't think we'll have enough team efforts to get 2/3 wins.

I've never watched Aluko play but i'd rather we gave the lad a go on the off chance he might be slightly better than Kristiansen or Thomas. It's not like it's a high bar. I think my team would be; Stolarcyzk Ricardo Okoli Vestergaard Aluko Winks James Fatawu Reid Mavididi Ayew Didn't think there would be a time where I would think that Ayew up front and Reid in the 10 would be our best option but this is life under Aiyawatt. -

Just spent a few minutes thinking about what 11 I would be happy with and it's impossible. -

I'd pick 11 players, personally. -
I'll give you one reason. His knees are held together with chewing gum and his first whiff of Seagrave will put him in A and E.
-
For his Leicester career, for sure. But I don't think many people will put too much emphasis on failing here. We're a basket case of a club and he hasn't spent a penny. I suspect he'd get another job at this level.
-
I think he'd take someone like Fulham into Europe and a side like West Ham into League 1. He needs the team to be ready built for him and by the time he leaves it'll be a pile of rubble but he will get results. Maybe with a top quality DOF with a set ethos and style he could leave a club in good shape.
-
You have to laugh really. We knew that we'd lose Buonanotte and that El Khannouss was absolutely desperate to move yet decided to wait until deadline day to sign someone that's barely jogged for 18 months. People will still refuse to blame Aiyawatt and Rudkin though. Must be Cifuentes' fault for daring to play our only number 10.
-
Ordinary management, yes. But I think pretty much every top football manager is a twat.
-
I don't think you could say he's a terrible manager when you look at his record. Like him or loathe him (I don't really think anyone likes him) but he gets results. I agree he'd be better as a national team manager though. He shouldn't be anywhere near finances or transfers.

Why stop there? Lets go for the Dean Smith 4-3-3. Get all three strikers playing. -
I think it sours because he's a twat more than him not being a good manager.
-
I think it's more that people are waking up to the fact that Aiyawatt and Rudkin are (and always have been) the problem. Rodgers is undoubtedly a tosser so I wouldn't exactly be happy with having him back but we know he's a very good manager and I doubt we could get a similarly talented manager through the door. But nothing is worth doing until Aiyawatt and Rudkin go.

The 25/26 Stat Topic - “Statistically Terrible, Visually Even Worse”
AKCJ replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
He's a steady goalkeeper that has a howler in him. Bit of a David James type where you won't notice him doing well but you'll notice the massive error that results in a goal. -
Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have world class academies and £1bn valued squads. The quality of Palace drops off massively when they start having to include reserves/youth in their teams.
