We had Lingard for 5 games? He made his professional debut with us but he was still young and didn’t do a lot. That was Ferguson last season at Manchester United I believe. Would we have purchased him? I guess if really depended on where he intended to play him. I’m not sure it was ever an option as from memory United saw him as really talented and wanted him to gain experience. Didn’t he then go to Birmingham as he couldn’t get into Moyes Man U team and average a goal every other game. He’s been very streaky throughout his career but he’s got ability. I agree with this. I don’t think the they’d give it to someone high profile and loud to begin with, as they could get booted out. They also won’t heavily feature them on TV, so it keeps the public guessing. Would be my take anyway!

I do think Faes would do a better job at left back in the Callum Doyle tactics, rather than whatever Luke Thomas was attempting last night. He clearly has ability but we all know that like Jannick, he has an error in him. Jannick and Wout were adequate at this level under Maresca. For so much to be wrong at the moment, tells me that something culturally has changed at the club, which is impacting players. People will pick out the attitudes of players like Faes and Winks, however you could view it in a different light as frustration boiling over and then wanting a higher standard by on-field performances. We’ve seen some awful performances (including those two) through this season and maybe it’s frustration. We want and need leaders and some of the players we have need talking through games.

I don’t think they’ll get rid of Cifuentes, as he’ll likely keep picking up points to keep him in a job. This is some of the most disconnected football we’ve ever seen though.
