Faes for Okoli, Winks for Skipp

Maybe in the dressing room. But what about off the pitch? Leeds fans continually sung a song about him which referenced the thing we're not allowed to talk about. While I wouldn't want compare our fan base to Leeds, we have our fair share of knuckle heads as well and it would hardly be a way of bringing harmony back to the club
-
Agree completely. In the friendly it looked like they were going for the high press, lots of intensity, fairly direct. Really surprised by how lacklustre they've been in these 3 games so far
-
I'm prepared to give Cifuentes alot of time to get things right because of the shitshow he's come into. But if he keeps picking Soumare then my patience is going to wear thin pretty quickly. I know the options aren't great but I'd even have Hamza in there ahead of him
-
We know there's a lack of quality in certain positions but what's concerned me more in these first couple of games is the lack of intensity. We've been on the back foot in the first 5 minutes of both games and that's set the tone for the way they've played out. You could argue there was a lack of intensity under Maresca but at least we had control over the games. I'll give him time because he hasn't had a full pre season and there's obviously players who want out but I don't get the feeling that the players have bought into Cifuentes like they did Maresca

I miss Wilf

I swear I could smoke 40 a day and it not be as bad for my health as watching Soumare for 90 mins
-
After all this time watching Soumare, he still does things that baffles me. That goal was all on him, Hamza had to follow the run and Soumare doesn't even pretend to pressure the ball. I cannot for the life of me understand why he keeps getting picked

Fair point. Financially I'm sure it was good for him and he does have 2 winners medals out of it, but in terms of his development as a footballer, I think it was a wasted year just at the point he was reaching his peak age. I'm not liking alot of Everton's transfer business though so could find himself in another relegation battle
-
Hope KDH does well at Everton. Shame a year was wasted at Chelsea but he was never good enough for that level. His technical limitations were always highlighted when he was on the pitch with Maddison. He'll put in a shift though and has an eye for a goal so might work out under Moyes

Conor Coady sold to Wrexham - official

He's indicative of the terrible transfer policy we've had over the last couple of seasons in signing aging mid table prem league team's cast offs with no resale value and paying them bucket loads. Don't hate him as a person like some seem to. Appeared to have a good relationship with Fatawu and some of the other youngsters. But he seems to talk a much better game than he practices on the pitch so not sad to see him go -
Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR
MancFox24 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I've said it before but those who were in charge of the wage structure at the club should have been done for negligence. In the 22/23 season our average wage was £90k, for every £1 we were bringing in, we were spending about £1.20 just on wages. It was shocking. The fact nobody seems to have been held accountable for this is where my anger at the club lies. I can forgive poor management choices and poor recruitment because that happens at every club, but the incompetence that was shown was beyond belief and we're still feeling the consequences now. -

Villa are also right on the edge of a PSR breach and could find themselves in trouble if they don't get CL this season -

So PL has jurisdiction over a season we were in the championship but which PSR rules apply? Because you're allowed much higher losses in the PL than you are in the Championship -

I'm so lost with all this PSR stuff. Why are the PL charging us for a season when we were in the Championship? I thought that was the loophole we'd found which meant they couldn't do that -
Says everything about how far our recruitment has fallen that we spent the best part of £100m (Slimani, Iheanacho, Daka, and Cannon) trying to replace Vardy and combined they aren't fit to lace his boots. No fault of his that it came a couple of years too late. Not just a Leicester legend but a premier league great. Never seen top quality defenders as unnerved as they were when Vardy was at his best. You'd often see them just boot the ball out of play even if he was nowhere near them. Get the statue built.

Expectation and entitlement.
MancFox24 replied to João Miguel da Cunha's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's not irrelevant at all. Without the funding from a nation state and abusing the financial rules, Man City aren't that much of a bigger club than us and would probably be a middling PL club at best. Times do indeed change, which means it's nigh on impossible for clubs like Huddersfield to achieve what they did previously. Football is now more than ever governed by money, and there are only so many oil rich Middle Eastern countries looking to invest in football clubs (not that I'd want us to be taken over by one anyway) -
Expectation and entitlement.

Not sure anyone is saying you should look at a single point in history and assume that's where a club should be. I don't think a club like ours should consistently be as low down as league one, in the same way it shouldn't be consistently challenging for top 6. But we've done both of those things in recent history. I wouldn't be using Man City as an example anyway cus they've essentially cheated the system to get to where they are now -
Expectation and entitlement.

I think the mistake you've made is thinking we were ever in a position to consolidate ourselves as a top club. That just isn't the way football works. The natural order means we're a club who should be finishing anywhere between the bottom half of the PL to the top half of the Championship. You can over achieve and under achieve, like we've done on several occasions over the last 30 years. But that is our standing in the football pyramid. Of course the decisions you make on and off the pitch affects that and I'm not removing the blame from anyone at the club. In fact I think the problems were originally created by the people at the top of the club sharing your mentality that we had the opportunity to establish ourselves as a big club. We moved away from selling our best players when we had the chance and implemented a ridiculous wage structure that was well beyond our means. But even if we did everything right, we would have still just delayed the inevitable that eventually we would revert to being a bottom half PL club or top half Championship club. And for those praising Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton etc, I'd place a bet that they'll all end up getting relegated in the next 5-10 years. Pretty depressing view of football I know, but that's just the reality. -

We go again... -
JJ's performance must be a close second

I'd love to know when opposition managers are preparing to play us and they have to identify our strengths, what the fcuk do they say
-
It's not just your club though, it's all of ours. If people spend good money to get to London on a Thursday night and want to clap at that dross then so be it. Some people might find it disgusting that you seem willing to take a further drop into L1 to 'get your club back', but you're entitled to your opinion. I personally think it would be a disaster for us to slip any further and hope we manage to stabilise the club next year with or without the owners, Rudkin and most of the current players
-
You may be right but you have to admit we didn't deserve a single one of those points we accumulated under Cooper. The underlying numbers suggested the form was always going to fall off a cliff
-
No blame on Vardy for signing the contract. The blame is all on the club for offering it to him. Makes us seem like a tin pot club offering contracts for sentimental reasons. Look how Liverpool are dealing with Salah and Van Dijk- they're thinking long term and acting in the best interests of the club
