Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
MancFox24 replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'm not that fussed about somebody with championship experience. I think there's alot of mythology around the championship and how hard it is to get out of. The bottom line is if we build a good team with a clear ideology, then we should be successful with the resources we have available. There's also not only one way of doing it. Burnley have played some played possession based, attacking football while Sheffield Utd have been more direct, but both have been successful. Obviously I, like most others, would prefer Burnley's style. But I'm actually not that bothered. I just want to see someone come in with a clear plan of how they want their team to play. Given the blank canvass they're gonna be starting from, it will be a good opportunity for the right person to come in and shape the team however they want. I would personally like to see Hasenhuttl cus I think he does have a clear plan to have a team who press high with lots of energy. But I'm much clearer in who I don't want at the minute- Smith, Vieira, Gerrard- cus from the teams they've managed so far, I struggle to know what they're actually setting their teams up to do. -
It's not about thinking it's a blessing. But next year would have been a real struggle in the premier league with the rebuild we have on. And I realise it's a big if, but if we can get the right manager in and get the finances sorted out in the championship, like Burnley did, there's nothing to stop us bouncing back and becoming a sustainable Premier League club again
-
We will be back. That's the nature of supporting a club like this. Relegation has come a bit quicker than it should but it was going to come at some point. As much as clubs like Brighton and Brentford are having really good periods now, they'll be relegated in the next 5-10 years as well. The difference in finances between the top 7 now is massive, so it only takes a few poor decisions for any of the other 13 to fund themselves in trouble. Let's hope we get the decisions right now to get back quickly, starting with the appointment of a progressive and forward thinking manager

Sad day. Lots of blame to go around but not much point in going into that right now. I hope this turns out to be a big wake up call for the club. And rather than have season after season of floating around relegation, as Everton have done and will continue to do, let's hope it turns out to be a good thing that we've got this out the way and can look to build with a new manager and squad of players

I like the balance between attack and defence today. Would just like to see more pressure on the ball when they get into our half. Maddison and Iheanacho have been really good and Barnes finally showed up for the goal. Would love to see us go for another but can't afford to open up too much
-
Nope. But they don't kill journalists
-
He has done a great job. As for for it being great to see Newcastle in the top 4 I'm gonna have to strongly disagree there. They're owned by a country who torture and kill people for speaking out. I'd still rather be going down with our owners than getting in the champions league with theirs
-
Ndidi man of the match in my opinion. Souttar, Faes and Thomas were good as well. I find it really strange that we weren't pressing them at the end of that game and seemed to be settling for a draw. I can understand it up until 75 mins but you have to give yourself a chance of winning the game.

The balls on Newcastle fans to complain about time wasting
-
Someone get over to that corner flag and start digging the corner up so Trippier can't keep putting in those ridiculous in swingers
-
Iversen doesn't half know how to kick the ball out of play from a goal kick
-
Say want you want about Wilf's passing, he's been defensively really good tonight
-
Defensively it is much better, I don't think anyone can deny that. Soumare has to get closer to Trippier (or even better bring him off for Mendy). Maddison for Nacho and I'd even consider Barnes for Vardy at some stage if we're sticking with this shape
-
In a parallel world where Iversen started this season in goal ahead of Ward then then I swear to God everyone would be saying the same about him as they're saying about Ward now
-
Is Nacho even fit? Looks like he's been hobbling around for most of the game
-
If you play a drinking game to have a shot every time we put 3 passes together you'll be as sober as a judge by the end of this game
-
Not against going to a 3 at the back and dropping Barnes but how anyone sees Maddison as a problem in our team is beyond me. Surely had to be Maddison over Tielemans and Mendy over either Ndidi and Soumare
-
It's usually at around this time before a match where I've somehow managed to convince myself we can get something out of it (even did it for man city away). Not this time. I genuinely would rather play any other fixture in the league right now other than Newcastle away. I watched them against Brighton and the physicality and energy they brought to the game was scary. It's a nightmare of a match up for us and I can't think of any game in the history of supporting this club where I've been more convinced we'll get beaten and beaten heavily. Not even bothered thinking about potential line ups cus I don't think it will make any difference.

Leicester 0-3 Liverpool Post Match Thread

First 15 minutes was better. We were even holding our defensive shape quite well after they started to take over. But you just can't concede goals like that first one. It's Sunday league stuff. And you can't react to losing goals like we do. I think it's got the stage where it's pointless commenting on individual players any more. Obviously there were some awful performances tonight, but we're a poor side and fully deserve to go down. And I know people are angry, but those 'fans' saying they're giving up on the club might wanna reflect on the fact that they're a part of the problem, and if they can't handle a relegation to the championship then they might be better off finding another club. -
Youri better hope there aren't any scouts at this game
-
Gakpo miscontrols the ball by 20 yards and is still the first to pick it up. Says all you need to know about our defensive shape
-
I'd sooner have thrown Mendy and KDH in there for a bit of energy but let's not kid ourselves, they're hardly world beaters and have come in for plenty of criticism on here in the past. Truth is very little has worked this season. The bit of success we did have before the w/c came when soumare and tielemans played in a 3 so let's hope they can show some of that form again
-
I went back to those games where we had a good run pre world cup and was surprised to see we played a midfield of KDH, Tielemans and Soumare in most of them, with Maddison off the right, Barnes off the left and Daka up front. I'd be tempted to basically be showing them videos from those performances all week to try to lift the confidence. They actually looked fairly solid in those games, even with Ward in goal and Amartey at the back for most of them. I'm not saying it has to be the same team selection but there must be things we can pick up that we were doing in those games that we've just stopped doing now.
-
Yeah, it's a difficult one. I don't think it's a case of changing the laws. But to me it's the same as when vardy used to leave a leg out so it got caught. You rarely see them get given as penalties now. The forest player has basically just put his leg in way of the player clearing it with the intention of getting kicked. He has no interest in the ball. I've seen a few of them this year and I think you could show those examples to refs and say these situations aren't penalties
-
Hate that penalties are given for challenges like that. The forest player has no intention of going for the ball, he just sticks his leg out knowing that the Southampton player is trying to clear it. If anything is should be a free kick to Southampton for obstruction
