Leicester 1-0 Sunderland Post Match Thread.

We showed some real fight there and threw our bodies on the line, so that's a positive. The overall performance was really confusing though, they look sometimes as though they're caught in 2 minds about whether to stick or twist and we were just inviting pressure on at the end. We've lost and drawn games we should have won this year though so let's take it and move on -
Told you this ref was good
-
Mads there running out looking for a counter attack and nobody wants it
-
It wont happen but I'd have KDH off before Yunus tonight. He looks leggy to me and they keep doubling up on him so giving him a rest might open some space up down that side
-
I think we've played in moments all season. But if I try to think of a typical goal we score, I can't really do it. Obviously it's not bad to score in different ways, but I never saw the clear patterns of play consistently. And even in our most dominant games, we've always conceded chances
-
Not a huge difference between this performance and most games we were winning earlier in the year. We've played on the margins for most of the season and even with the massive lead we built I was never fully convinced it would be comfortable. We really need Wilf back, he might not have the numbers that KDH has but I think he's been our most effective attacking player this season

Would love to see Yunus getting more game time in the league. His finishing was poor tonight but he makes things happen and I think he's one we should be looking to keep -

Anyone else thinking 'don't shoot' when it was rolled back to him? -

First half was one of the best we've played this season. If the second half is all about conserving energy, I don't really understand why we don't make changes sooner to inject a bit of energy back in the team -
I'm not sure why this has all come about now. I think we created far more yesterday than we have done in alot of other games and I've definitely seen duller games this season. While I do get why Enzo is frustrated, I'm not sure this is the best way to get people on board. I think it's a bit concerning that he's chosen to come out in such strong terms considering the position we're in and maybe reveals a wider frustration of other things going on at the club. Either way, I don't think he has enough credit in the bank at this point to be calling out fans, whether he has a good point or not
-
As frustrating as Daka is at times, I think his pace in behind does provide space for others and we are more creative as a team with him in there. I'd like to see Yunus given a run in the team as well, I think he's definitely got something about him. He made that finish tonight look simple but there's plenty who would have lashed at that

FA Cup 5th Round Draw - Bournemouth Away.

Watched them batter Swansea in the first half and they press really high up the pitch. Would be nice to see us field a strong side to see how we cope with it -
I'd say the wingers have the hardest job in this team. They have to work really hard defensively and are then expected to provide most of the creativity by beating players who are often sitting in low blocks and have been given plenty of time to get in shape by us playing around for long periods of time between the defenders and keeper. McAteer's work rate is fine, although I thought he looked quite leggy at times last night, but I just don't think he has what it takes to provide the creativity this system needs. That's not to say he wouldn't be a good player in another system or team, I just can't see him kicking on playing in this team

Leicester 1-1 Ipswich Post Match Thread

To be fair to our fans, we seem to be in a no win situation this year. We win games and get criticised for celebrating because we've got the biggest budget in the league and should walk it. And yet when we drop points we're arrogant for having a bit of a moan. Obviously some of the reaction is over the top, happens on all football forums I've ever seen. And I'm sure you're right that the title win had an impact on the mindset of some fans. Add in the fa cup and European football in recent seasons and you'll have to forgive us for not wanting to party at a home draw against Ipswich (closest competitors or not). -

No point in going over the top, but we have to get more progressive on the ball at times. It's not even going against the philosophy because they're easy balls forward but it's almost like it's a game plan to go backwards at times. And it just gives encouragement to the opposition to come on to you. They're a well coached side but with the greatest respect their players are pretty limited and if we can't cope with them coming on to us then it's clear something isn't quite working -
The amount of £105 million in losses was set by the PL with the expectation that it was very generous and that no clubs would go anywhere near it. There were people pushing to restrict losses to £30m-£40m. And allowances were made for Covid and to allow for interest payments on the new stadium costs in Everton's case. But they decided to push the limits despite repeated warnings from the PL about their transfer activity. People should turn their anger on owners and directors who can't run a business within very generous guidelines

Faes is clearly alot better than this league, but sometimes it looks like he thinks the game is too easy and he gets lazy in his defending, like for the first goal. That will stop him playing right at the top level
-
Hard to be objective. Don't like to see fouls like the one for the pen given but that's the way modern football is. Not a red for Fatawu in a million years, VAR overturns that
-
Weird half. None of our players have played badly on the ball but we've still been far too open. Goes to show the importance of the work rate of Mavididi, Fatawu, KDH and Ndidi to this system. Casedei has looked alot better going forward but needs to be more aggressive off the ball

Really? I thought they were the worst team we've played this year. Tactically they were all over the place and that defence of theirs looked very bad. Their goalscorer looked good but as a team I thought they weren't good at all -
Ndidi needs to trademark that run he makes down the channel, its been our best form of attack all season
-
Don't get the stick for Coady, he's been good at getting the ball to Fatawu early so he can go 1v1 against the defender. Could do with Faes doing the same with Mavididi but he slows it down cus he's not left footed. Need to get in the ref's ear about the keeper, he's taking an age when he's got the ball in his hands

Ah man, Andy Hinchcliffe?! Put the playoffs back on
