It’s a completely different scenario though. We have a stadium they have a ground with 4 modular stands, akin to Filbert St, which they have been in since 1924. They 1st mooted the expansion 8yrs ago, so not something they have spoken about last week and thought ooh whilst we are on a high let’s build baby build. The costs have now doubled & after completion of a ‘single’ newly ‘developed’ stand they will only expand by 8k seats to 34k. It would actually have been more cost effective to move & develop the CP national sports stadium or indeed build a brand new stadium. We built a 32k seater stadium for 4 times less than they will spend on an additional 8k seats..so I’m not sure this can be used in the ‘look what proper clubs do’ list.

My replies refer to the battle not the war…today in that 20-30 minute period we needed a player(s) to give their back 3 something to think about and not be comfortable playing 10yrds inside our half. For the war yes we need a 10-15 goal striker

What happened when Daka & Silko finely came on? What happened to Derby’s attacking threat that they had from around 50minutes to that 78minute, they were all over us until we had an out he made the change far to late they could quite easily have scored a 2nd in that period & who knows what would have happened then.

The ‘experts’ understand that you don’t have to score a goal to affect a game, the threat of his pace would have kept 3 of their players out of our half therefore there wouldn’t have been an overload in the middle of the pitch which would have allowed us to get the ball which we couldn’t when Ayew was on in that period of the game 🤷‍♂️

Rightly or wrongly I agree but you also need an out to exploit the gaps at the back which is where Marti messed up. The change of Ayew for Daka should have happened before they scored as you could see all 3 CBs of theirs were in our half & they were winning all the 50/50 ricochets as they had so many spare bodies in our half and could just continue to re-start attacks. Simply by putting Daka on those 3 CBs would not be walking 10-15yrds into our half we wouldn’t have the overload, Daka wouldn’t even have to score but just being there and being an out pulls them back. At 1 point Ayew was smashing the ball up field from a LB position…to who? His subs are what’s letting him down for me, with that bench I imagine it was always the plan to put at least 2 possibly 3 of the young lads on with 10mins to play especially being 3 up but he made it difficult for himself due to his lack of action when they were building up ahead of steam, had they scored a 2nd all 3 of those young lads don’t come on..I don’t want to be negative after the win but he really needs to look at his sub timings and players.

& there ya go we have invited them onto us we need Daka on they just spent 10mins in our half knowing we didn’t have an out

I have a feeling something happened in the changing room at HT last w/end, the fight shown in the 2nd half was different to what we have seen thus far & the changes made…he’s hoping the CB penny has dropped & they realise they need to put a shift in and not just turn up

Derby are near the bottom for possession so you would imagine they sit deep therefore no space for Daka to run, would assume Ayew/Reid are there to play between the CBs and set up balls for JJ to run onto & shoot from the edge of the box & Ayew probably better option than the red card in waiting of Carranza

I’m confused, so he doesn’t keep playing the same players in the same formation every week then because I’m being told he does 🤷‍♂️ I think I could guess at least 9 if not 10 players every week it’s not that hard when you look at our squad

Etzebeth 12 week ban seems a bit harsh on his club side Sharks, he's now banned until April to them for an offense made during International duty, he won't miss a single International test game & will be free to pick up where he left off during the next round of International fixtures in July (v ENG) He should have some sort of ban against his Test selection also.

Newcastle seem to be heavily linked with Bilal El Khannouss for a summer 2026 buy - so now would it be a case of do they just give us the £22m or does Stuttgart, then sell (can they sell straight away?) to Newcastle for £30m+. I know its an obligation to buy & you would imagine the reported low threshold to meet will be triggered but if Newcastle come in Bilal's head will be turned back to the Premier lge riches & therefore it could be him that says no to signing for Stuttgart on a perm, neither club can force either way unless he's bound himself into the same agreement which i doubt, maybe we could squeak a couple of £m more out of the deal if that happens.

Well done Sunderland thus far but sadly the form guide shows they are tailing off & based on the last 5 games they would be 15th behind Wolves, Burnley, Bournemouth, Spurs & Leeds. So all 3 promoted sides in the bottom 6 on form whilst they now going into a busy festive period where squad depth comes to the fore, here's hoping they can keep it going though.
