  1. I imagine we did for amortisation reasons as we couldn't afford it FFP wise with short contracts.
  2. So you think KDH is worth 40m and Whitaker 10m. One has 22 goal contribution for the best team ever seen in the Championship which and the other has 24 goals contributions for a team that's struggled. Both are contracted too 2027 but Whitaker is 2 years younger. I'm referencing someone with similar stats and contacts length, im also not arguing Whitaker is the same price as KDH, but your statement he' is only worth 10m is crazy. Doyle will be in the 15m-20m range similar to the price that Man City have agreed for THB with Southampton Not a chance we get 75m for KDH, he would have to have the same numbers in the PL and be capped by England to get remotely close.
  3. So how much do you think Dewsbury-Hall is worth?
  4. Just because he can doesn't mean he should. Are we only aiming for OK? If you had the opportunity to buy 3 players to improve the first 11what positions would you focus on?
  5. There will be bumps I think we have shown a lot of character after our defeats, so I'm not too worried.
  6. I think the pressure is more of an issue in the final stretch; much easier to win a game early and mid-season with little pressure. As the season comes to a close the pressure ramps up I think we are going to see a lot of strangle results
  7. They have already said they want 20m +
  8. Yes, he is.
  9. We are going to lose Vardy, Albrighton, Vestergaard, Nacho, Praet and Ndidi for free in the summer; we also lose our loan players Doyle, Fatawu and Akgun if we don't buy them. That's 9 players out of a 25-man squad; we aren't going to have the money to replace 9 players in the summer. We need to retain at least a couple of those running-down contracts.
  10. I've not seen anything that makes me think he's good enough on the ball for Enzo. I can see him going on loan again, saving wages and a loan fee. We have been scouting a number of left-footed CBs, which points to the fact he's not in our future plans.
  11. Correct. Ideally, we would sell all the deadwood off to help us in the long term. The elephant in the room is the lack of wriggle room in the accounts; for 2018-2022, we had about around 4m headroom on FFP. Before anyone says that a 4 year period, not a 3 year the PL took 2019/20 and 2020/21 as a single (average) to reduce the impact of COVID. That is before you factor in a season in the Championship, which reduces our allowable losses from 105m to 83m, which we are going to feel the impact of until it drops out of the 3-year monitoring period in 26/27 We crippled ourselves with a high wage-to-revenue ratio and a high amount of transfer amortisation, which in turn has reduced opportunities to be flexible. It will not be a short fix; we are already 18 months into a recovery period, which has seen us slash our wage bill and reduce the amount of transfer amortisation on our accounts; this is a long-term rebuild. This is why Enzo's approach to our academy players is really important; we are going to need the likes of Nelson, Alves, Braybrooke, McAteer, et al. to fill holes we can't fund in the squad short term, with a long-term view of developing them and make some sales.
  12. Enzo could get a tune out of him.
  13. Unless you get more than their value against the account back, it does not release any funds.
  14. We are a system team that is more about the sum of the whole than the individuals. I think the new system gives him more protection than Rodgers's system, he can't play in a pair. We will struggle to find a CB with his ability on the ball and pace because, guess what, that would be an elite-level player. I would rather us spend money on a quality left-footed CB. Resigning Vesty allows us to do that.
  15. Which doesn't really help our FFP position.
  16. If Mav gets 10 goal contributions, that would be pretty good.
  17. Mavididi is more of a team player then Barnes. Barnes was pretty poor defensively, Mavididi offer much more in that regard and has a much higher all round workrate. Barnes also had 5 season it the PL to improve, Mavididi isn't going to be as good as 21/22 Barnes in his first season.
  18. Be nice to see Cov slip to middle table
  19. Best home record vs the best away record. Interesting have taken the same number of points as us at home.
  20. He was great first half. Even if you are anti-Praet, you can't fault him, for his first half display.
  21. Mcatee is younger than Akgun and has already shown he can play in the PL, scoring and assisting in a poor Sheff U side. Also on the back of a good season in the Championship. I think Enzo would pick him over Akgun in a flash Considering he had a tour around the training ground this summer.
  22. I agree, but ran out of steam late on. Probably due to match fitness.
  23. No sure we were overly bother about pressing in the second half, felt like we were happy to settle for the 2-0. Think we could have gone though the gears if needed. Also they had to change it was one way traffic in the first half. Rohl’s done a decent job since he arrived.
  24. Maybe, but that's unlikely to trouble us.
  25. Felt it was as much us taking our foot of the gas.
