I’m less worried about Ipswich since we played them. There is no doubt they’re a decent team, but they’re an “effort” team and don’t play with the same level of control that say we or Southampton do. I can’t help think they’ll burn themselves out at some point and the results won’t come as consistently. I could be wrong though as I still think that Leeds should be a lot closer to us with the players at their disposal

Player Of The Year: KDH - he got so much stick and people saying that he was overrated because he is “one of our own”, but he’s the best player in the Championship Goal Of The Year: It could be the Mendy one, but that ultimately meant little. I might go Winks against QPR for a very important win Team Performance of the Year: West Brom away as it was a win from nowhere and made me believe this team is really pulling together Best Atmosphere of the Year: Can’t think of one as I only go to home games 😃 Best Away Trip of the Year: See above Best Result of The Year: It’s probably the Spurs 4-1, but hopefully the Southampton 4-1 away win will ultimately prove to be the most important Worst Player of the Year: Has to be Ward, although I feel a bit sorry for him. He should have been taken out of the side a long time before he was Worst Result of the Year: Bournemouth. Started to lose hope after that game Foxes Talk blogger of the year: I’m not really one to follow people, but there are some who go the extra mile to keep us informed: @StriderHiryu with all the tactics analysis and @moore_94 with the updates on loans and press conferences …. both come to mind

There are sometimes fine lines between success and failure. Usually you’d expect promotion form to be 2 points per game. On that basis Leeds should be on 50 points, which would currently be 4th place. That’s where they are albeit with 45 points. It doesn’t help that we’re currently motoring along at 62 points and that two other sides are averaging more than 2 points a game. There is also a danger of going too early. There were so many writing off Southampton and Russell Martin off after only a handful of games, although the worry for Leeds is their form isn’t on the right trajectory

Is he permanent?
-
Just in case anyone hasn’t mentioned it. I think Mavididi might be permanent
-
Hmmm… that’s changed from the first half comments
-
To be fair - it is ridiculous. Especially as two of them are Smithies and Ward

Apparently Dennis Praet had a stiff sh1t before travelling and gave himself a hiatus hernia!

If you read some of the “alternative views” they have been put across persuasively and intelligently. Just because you don’t understand or agree with them doesn’t make them insensitive or crass. Nobody has anything but sympathy for this man’s family and derision for the individual who made the comments. There is, however, a wider perspective of how best to deal with internet trolls

Staying up first season in the Premier League is a massive challenge for any club no matter their quality or resources. I never understand the argument that a team “needs another year” as you need to grab the opportunity when it presents itself. If Ipswich fail this year there will be 3 more teams with parachute payments to contend with next year. The worst that can happen is that you’re instantly relegated, but with Premier League revenues that give you a massive advantage back in the Championship

That's the real frustration I and many others, thought he'd be the main man this season, but it just hasn't transpired that way. Credit to Daka who's never been my favourite player, but has displayed far more endeavour and commitment in a few games - despite being outside the squad earlier in the season. I fear it's the end for Nacho. If we go up he won't be what we need and if we don't he'll move anyway. He's also too much of an enigma to place any bet that he'll be successful anywhere else

Ipswich are the story of the season. I'm happy with that, and they deserve the plaudits they're getting. It actually took a serious amount of mismanagement last season for us to even be a chapter and it would have been a huge disappointment if we weren't fighting for promotion All I'm bothered about is that we go back up. I don't care whether that's with a squad that's 15, 20 or 50 times more expensive than the Ipswich squad. The team would still have a 'P' next to it on the final league table

Latest update is that he picked his nose too vigorously, made it bleed and has uncovered a previously undiagnosed case of mild haemophilia Out until the end of the transfer window. Miraculous recovery expected in February

Really? This is very sad! He's only 34

Precisely!

It’s 2 from 4 for promotion now and when we drop points there will always be one of the other three who gains on us as we are all simply too consistent. As ourselves and Ipswich were playing each other we both dropped points. It would be extremely unlikely that both Saints and Leeds wouldn’t gain in that situation so we can be happy that only Southampton did. Our lead means we only have to be as consistent as the other 3 now and pick up points when they inevitably stumble. Currently I can only think that AFCON or significant injuries are the things that would make our form slip enough for two of the others to overtake -
I agree. Fatawu tends to try the same thing to get past his man and quite often he doesn’t and goes backwards. He doesn’t create danger in the final 3rd as consistently as SM does. He does, however, take care of his defensive duties very effectively. SM is currently the better player, but is probably closer to his peak than AF. Given his age we don’t know how far the latter can go or even where he’ll be when he’s Mavididi’s age. Fatawu is maybe already ahead of where we could reasonably expect for one so young

I think my biggest worry is that the first eleven gets us promoted, but the replacements are maybe not as good as we thought. -

And we definitely have gained a few as well. West Brom comes immediately to mind -

It’s not though is it. We’ve played two games in 3 days and we’re away to the team 2nd in the league. A 1-1 draw and we’re still 11 points ahead of 3rd -

Perspective. 2 games in 3 days. Away to the 2nd best side in the division. We were shite for the last 20 minutes and got what we deserved, but today has still been a good day -
It does have that feeling about it

The other thing is people were writing Southampton off after less than 10 games, which was a bit ridiculous really. Us, Leeds and Southampton all have squads that should maintain a challenge. Ipswich have less expectation, but should not be written off. It’s 2 from 4 currently, but I sleep easier whilst we still maintain our lead at the top
