Sadly, it shouldn't take a manager to call it out. It shouldn't be his concern. That should come from board level and looking at the state of the footballing side. Relegation was a criminal offence. We had a comfortable mid table side and went down. That should have seen a change in DoF. His side of the business failed, his choices, failed. Change was needed then. A younger, and well connected one to come in with fresh ideas. Granted getting Enzo felt like a breath of fresh air, but alas he found above was stale. Now we have Cooper. Someone that can easily be pointed at for failures, rather than the man who employed him. Cooper seems a nice bloke, but not the standard or ability we need. We need a knowledgeable leader, like Enzo where players will respect him and his methods. Problem is aka Palace and west ham, get it wrong and you make life worse. DoF first then a new manager with a way forward that both can work on and can stabilise this club back to where it was before relegation. Build a young squad with high ceilings. Brighton is a good model at the moment.
