I'm flat. Proper flat. After years of watching mediocrity coupled with desperate loans - players like Mark De Vries, Roman Bednar, Elvis Hammond, Geoff Horsfield, Barry Hayles, etc...to have had this legend and seen the best period we'll ever see - and then to have watched the club **** it up...and now Vards officially goes...I'm done. A one-man revolution. He didn’t just score goals, he gave us belief, pride, and something to fight for. A proper underdog scrapper who epitomised the club and even the city. A player who made you feel something every time he touched the ball or made an iconic run in behind. And now, after everything, it ends not with fireworks but with a whimper—and a club that’s lost its identity, direction and soul along the way. This will take a good 72 to 96 hours to start moving out the system.

In no order… QPR away in the 2013/14 season. Goal kick, flick on from Nuge, Vardy scores a hell of a finish. That, for me, was the moment we knew he was real quality. The Liverpool volley. Vardy’s comments about “not hiding away” - or however he phrased it today - is definitely a dig at those off the pitch. He knows the senior management don’t say enough and just prefer to hide behind their annual email / Press Release. Don’t get me wrong, Vardy’s not been great. No one has. But he’s nearly 40, he’s not the same Vardy anymore and he’s playing in one of the worst teams we’ve ever seen. Even if first touch and lay-offs have been awful all season. He’ll know that he won’t play Prem football again. But at least he’s come out and said something, unlike our owners who will either urge us to renew our season tickets or tell us they’ll do another ‘inquiry’.

Too many sitting-on-the-fence moments from that soft lad on twitter. Doesn’t like how the club’s being run, but doesn’t agree with fans having a voice and taking action. We were surrounded by new faces today. Clearly season ticket holders had sold their seats for today. It was staggering to see so many new faces and the usual 75-average age usuals clapping and waving the players off. I had people around me dancing and laughing and saying “oooooh yeah, thought we played really well”. I hate it. I’ve renewed my ticket for next year, but only so I can take my young son. My love for it has gone. Hopefully my lad will get something out of it. I only went to see the plane in person!
