Thanks. Exactly why I don't have any hate towards him. He's basically got a free pass purely because of the way our board treated him/the state of the club off the pitch, which is mental when you consider the results.

What kind of experts were these. I've just seen something that Switzerland's women lost 7-1 to Lurzen's U15. Who is seriously going to pay huge sums in TV money, sponsorship etc for something if inferior quality. The women's world cup made something like 50 less than the men's and they're expecting that gap to be bridged in 10 years? Even 50 years is ambitious as it's pretty unlikely it will ever be completely on par with the men's team. But 10 years is just a ridiculous comment. More importantly, why must it always be compared to the men's game. It does it no good and just harm. It's already being ruined by the massive disparity in resources between the top and bottom.

And to use a more relevent example, when we played them in the championship (after he was appointed), they were super impressive. Big fan of what Rohl has done but Cifuentes is one of the very few managers ever, where I've been particularly impressed with the setup of the team/management in a game against us (often the view is that it's more about our players playing poorly, being managed poorly or just individuals in the opposition team playing better)

You're overthinking it. It's a general statement about whether the current owners need to leave. In order for the club to be sold, it needs to be put up for sale so that's kind of a given. If you vote yes to this, it does not mean that you are saying they should sell it to anyone that has an interest. That's pure supposition on your part. Would you like there to be answer that is 'yes but only to really nice and wonderful new owners please'? How could you ever quantify it at this stage. If you don't want KP to sell then it's irrelevant who the prospective buyer is. But by wanting KP to sell the club, you can still want a different profile on owner from another supporter. That doesn't invalidate your opinion that KP should sell.

That's not the question though. The question is should they sell. Not should they sell to whoever, for what ever price, under whatever circumstances. Nor is if you answer yes, you're saying you're happy for with any of the above. This is effectively should we have a vote on Brexit. The actually vote of in or out then meant we had some evidence and people canvassing for either side, which in the case of KP selling, would be the equivalent of us then saying yes or no when we have been made aware of the identity/intentions of the buyer etc.

As I said in my post, it just looks like his head is a bit scrambled in this match (I know he got 99(!) but that dismissal was so silly). He's hyper aggressive but he doesn't ever seem that reckless as he's always in control. Still, classic English fans across all sports, where you're vilified after one setback.

Brook's lost his head a bit. As aggressive as he is, he's never been completely reckless. Got away with it in the first innings but some brain dead decision making with the bat in this test.

Agree completely but they've generally been pretty fair to fielders when the chance is tricky. Just something I've picked up on this summer where they are over the top.

Can see why Vaughan was a good captain but I agree with you. He's so up himself. Otherwise I think TMS is still decent. I actually went to a show that Aggers and Tuffers did where they just chatted cricket. Agnew actually a lot more down to earth and funny than I realised.

The quality of cricket comms/analysis is so much better than football but I've noticed this recent trend where they are ridiculously critical of the fielding. Jaiswal probably should have taken it but it was still a difficult chance, especially with the wind. Yet DK acting like he dropped a dolly. It's the 1 part of the game that is objectively much better than it was 10/20 years ago.

Ah fair enough. That would make more sense. Would still say he has bowled a lot less so far then he would have expected, even accounting for it being about the seamers in the early part of the season.

See my reply above. He's simply not bowling anywhere near enough overs to be the number 1 spinner. The runs are going to massively help his case for touring, especially in the sub continent.

Because 7 others bowled, one of them an opening batsman and several of them spinners. If he's not getting a bowl then, how an earth is he going to push himself into test selection as the spinner ahead of the captain's favourite? He's got so much potential as a spinner but I'm simply pointing out that despite opinions on Bashir, Rehan is doing absolutely nothing to justify him being England's no 1 spinner atm.

7 other people bowled instead of him, including Patel. Think his 4 day bowling is considered properly part time for now. Nice to see him cashing in with the bat though. Hopefully he can get a big ton before the season is out as that will be a massive boost to his reputation.

Actually I completely take back any sympathy on Bournemouth having just looked at their net spend over the past 3 seasons. Absolutely crazy for a team that has not had any success and is historically a lower league club. The only way you can justify that is with the expectation that you sell lots of players. The most frustrating thing for us is that our net spend has always been relatively small even when we were finishing in the top half nosy seasons. And Tielemans the only player I would argue we might have been forced into paying over the odds salary wise. The rest is our utter incompetence with inflated wages and lack of commercial income. But yes, there is still a massive problem with how it works. As you say, there is a food chain that will always exist which is fair enough but putting inside the incompetence of those running out club, we're a great advertisment for how building a team sensibly then having steady success is completely pointless with the current rule. Our relatively small transfer spend should have meant that we were never under pressure to sell more than 1 player a summer and keep spending sensibly. Think it's just going to take insane luck and commercial nous for a team to break up the cartel.

Is this genuine? If there was still any doubt about the competency of our decision makers, signing a 30 year old who has never scored goals above the 4th tier, then surely even the most staunch supporter of KP (who isn't completely brainwashed) would see that all is lost.

Might sound like sour grapes but hard to feel that 'sorry' for them. A historically small club with a very small fanbase. Like most smaller clubs, had to endure terrible times but then massively bought their way to success (going up the leagues) and timed it perfectly with the increased financial scrutiny, which has set them up for success. Extremely well run club now so they deserve to be where they are. But we are talking about 1 good season that they've had so with the way they have recruited, every player knows that Bournemouth are a stepping stone on to bigger things, and sometimes they would have just been a mid table PL club. A little bit different with us as we still had to do that when we're were actually successful. Agree with the sentiment as the rules are now all about protecting the big clubs but a club with as limited potential with Bournemouth has to accept that this would be the reality even if there weren't the same rubbish financial rules.

As with last time, it's going to largely come down to how somebody can't reset the mood/culture. Not as many good players as last time but the actual balance is probably better. Striker/CM key and then anything less than playoffs (promotion really) would be a travesty.

I'd have been smack in the middle of whether I want him, angling slightly more to being pleased to get him, but this is what would really concern me. The younger players bit is hard to really judge when he hasn't been in a situation like ours that surely dictates they are utilised a lot.
