Quality player
-
Ridiculously good because his defensive work was incredible. So impressed by him. Like FB and Abdul it's the work ethic that makes you think they can go to the very top. Couple of people in the match thread saying he looked off the pace
-
PATOOOOOOO! FFS, I wish he could fulfil his potential because he's so likeable
-
That pass was ridiculous
-
Justin with 2 fantastic blocks there
-
Faes immediately with a shit header
-
Yep. Winks would make a difference but would like to see Skipp (as well) as I think he's tenacious but a little more composed on the ball
-
Set up the goal as well
-
That's because El Khannouss has been running his socks off unlike most of his teammates. He's probably won more tackles than anyone else too. Right on cue he wins the ball off Kudus with a brilliant tackle by our own corner flag. Got to wonder what games our fans watch sometimes.
-
Somebody needs to give him an option or he'll keep doing it.
-
. Is this a pisstake?
-
Justin needs all the protection he can get and he's getting nothing. And then he gets given the ball tucked in the corner with absolutely no passing options. Are his teammates thick?
-
Think the pace of this league is too quick for him in terms of thought/decision making etc. (As evidenced by missing that chance)
-
BEK has been immense on the ball's only been in play about 3 mins
-
Let's see how that shakes out in a few weeks. If somebody like BEK wasn't even getting a look it, let's take it as a positive that he's in after just 2 days of training.
-
So assuming Choudhury at right back, which isn't really his position? Mavididi for McAteer? With you on that but assume it's for a bit of added defensive solidity. Possible that Okoli isn't fit enough to start and Faes has been comically bad, so even though it's a worrying lack of pace, Coady can't be any worse. We've lost Ricardo, Winks and Fatawu. 3 of our best players. Whatever lineup we pick is going to look crap at the moment. At least the trio of BEK, FB and JV looks much better than what we've been used to seeing.
-
What would you have picked?
-
People say this whoever is picked. With Ricardo, Winks and Fatawu out, we've lost the core of our best team so will look crap whatever. He's dropped Faes which is a winner.

Bleach will do that to ya

Who will benefit most from Ruud's presence ?

It's a valid concern but ACL injuries are so much more frequent and the care that these guys get is incredible. He was a bit older but our new manager famously had his move to United canned because of an ACL and yet he went on the be one of the greatest strikers of his generation. We've got the greatest example of never writing off a player too soon playing for us. Not to mention, how many of the players that have properly made the grade here in recent years actually played regularly for us at 19? We're not good at getting players in really young. Completely agree he needs to play. Just feels like that could have been with us. -

That's true. You never hear of players making the grade if they're not a regular by 19... -

Rodgers gave him his debut as a 16 year old. He then played again as a 17 year old. Was supposedly going to be involved in the next few games but then had that awful injury. So Rodgers couldn't pick him, not could Sadler or Smith. So that's already 3 of your managers that could not have played him. Then the rest of my original reply to your first post applies. The idea that 6 managers have ignored him is just false. -

Enzo publicly spoke about Alves but the issue was that he was coming back from the ACL injury and by the time he might have been fit, our form had nosedived and he understandably didn't want to risk him. Cooper's team selection was utterly bizarre and negative, so no chance he was ever going to get a game. There's only a trend if you ignore all context. -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

The player he was when he first came into the team, is completely different from the player he is now, unfortunately. Did ok on Saturday, considering. -
Which is more intrusive than an armband?
