  1. But then some of them were saying that he looked absolute quality? What I had read a while back was that they needed extra physicality and on top of that, the spot he could go for was taken by Sylla who's their best player
  2. People say this but what are they? He's not very quick, he's not capable of dominating attackers, doesn't read the game really well. If he cut out the errors he'd definitely be a decent CB at this level, maybe a top half quality starter but he simply doesn't excel at anything that would make him capable of being a nailed on starter at a 'top 6' club
  3. Yes. He looked very good in his few appearances last year and was regulary the highest rated player for a struggling Oxford
  4. He's crap
  5. Who the f in their team would get into ours? It's a poor team with a good manager
  6. Then went back to being shite
  7. Stupid considering it's normally used for months when there's no need, but as soon as it's actually needed, they don't use it
  8. We're actually playing well but can't see a bloody thing
  9. Just had my first experience of him on FM and he absolutely banged them in.
  10. I knew West Ham were in for him but never heard of Milan being interested. And we're still talking about a guy who has played 20 games and forced the move through because he knew he'd get lots more money than what he could where he was. But I don't think that was a case of Leicester will pay me much more than West Ham or AC Milan, more than he'd just massively increase his wages.
  11. I just replied to DavieG with the complete opposite viewpoint. Who did we actually sign, where you thought they were a massive coup? Tielemans who has already been here on loan and out of favour at Monaco, but probably justified that wage. The only other one, and I don't think he was even on a huge wage, is Ricardo because he'd been linked with much bigger clubs. Otherwise they were all played that we should have been able to attract but we seemed content to just pay 20-50% over the market rate on their wages. We didn't get a competitive advantage from that, but that's our fault for pissing the money away.
  12. I know but the especially galling thing is that it's hardly like we dished our huge wages on free transfers to compensate for a lower transfer spend or attract players that would otherwise have been unobtainable. That of course our problem because the ownership started handing out hideous contracts just to keep very average players (Hamza being on £50k a week plus after playing about 20 games is the one that sticks out) or out of a misconceived sense of loyalty. It's a 2 parter: If a club that had the success we did, whilst not actually spending huge sums on players and selling it's best players, can get relegated (partly because it couldn't spend) and still find itself on the end of charges, the rules are clearly not fit for purpose. On the other hand, we must have the most commercially inept football execs in English football to not capitalise on our success and still end up breaching financial rules.
  13. Sat in the Kop for that game as my mate is a Liverpool fan who sorted tickets. Those 2 penalties were an absolute disgrace. We scored 2 absolute crackers though.
  14. But do you actually think we're going to get that shakeup? If they made a couple of coaches the fall guys for the biggest failure in PL history, whilst still being aware we were in trouble financially, what an earth makes you think they'd actually bother to change things up now? The people running the club are absolute morons but if you want a bit of context for how broken these rules are, Ipswich spent more in the summer transfer window then we ever have in one, gross or net. Now, they should be able to spend lots as a newly promoted club but if I team that spent most of a decade set in the top half of the PL table, winning the FA Cup and PL, with several European appearances, can't comply with the rules despite selling key players and not spending lots of money on transfers, there is something seriously broken.
  15. We'll be under embargo then and almost certainly back to yet another of those clubs that thinks it should be in the PL but just lingers in the Championship. Really is shit or bust time
  16. Probs just rehashing the summer links
  17. I'm genuinely staggered people thought he was going to excel at this level. He's far too limited and being in his mid 20's having played lots of top flight football, would probably highlight why nobody took a punt on him. Absolutely expected him to be better and good enough for what we needed, maybe a mid table winger or rotation option for a top 10 side, but never thought he would tear it up.
  18. Normally want to see lots of young players involved but we desperately need to win to change the momentum so would like to see a pretty strong lineup.
  19. And worse when you look at the first bunch of goals and try to claim that he is the sole reason for them being scored. Nobody is going to sit here and say he hasn't been crap but in many of those clips, he is absolutely not the only 1 to blame. Can he do better? Yes. Should he do better? In some of them. But to solely blame him for some of those goals is embarrassing when there are many others who are equally culpable, if not more so. That area of the pitch is a huge deficiency even when a horribly out of form/awful James Justin isn't playing. Also really highlights how thick our fanbase our to be posting that one about how he's cost us 18 points according to 'Opta'. You'll note how nobody has actually been able to find that actual stat And the comparisons to Danny Ward are one step too far. We had a better keeper available than Ward and as the Wolves game showed, he is quite obviously incapable of doing any facet of his job well. Yes, Justin has been awful but it's not even close to being on that level.
  20. Will be glossed over as he scored (and fair play for gambling) but he was absolutely honking today and same thing in all his recent appearances. Wastes so many good opportunities on the break and a complete lack of composure when he gets the ball. I certainly didn't get the viewpoint from some as though he was going to be a great player at this level but I did think he'd at least be decent and the sort of player that is a mid table winger, or bench option for a top half side maybe. Been so disappointing. Desperately need an actual winger brought in during this window.
  21. Yep, that was awful from Ayew. Should have easily been able to keep that. Still a brainless pass. Justin just looks shot mentally. I am more keen for us to get attacking players in as 1/2 could make a huge difference whereas we need a whole new defence, but we need somebody else to come in at right back big time
  22. Mavididi is absolutely toilet. Missed a sitter and it was his inability to control the ball that ruined our chance to break and gave the ball back to them, which ultimately led to the corner
  23. Nobody gets out to the ball as per usual.
  24. A winger is the absolute priority to me, as it should have been with a striker in the summer. We currently only really have 1 out and out wide player available at that's Mavididi who's been pretty rubbish. BEK and Facundo can play wider but you then lack really explosive pace and poor balance if you have both of them out there. Obviously the defence is shocking but that takes 2/3 players to sort whereas 1 wide player who can potentially stretch the game, either from the start or off the bench would be a game changer and realistic if we're just getting 1 or 2 in.
