  1. In Okoli, he was injured just before the first game and then he's got to displace the partnership from last year so don't think that's a great barometer. However, whether he is good enough or not is another question.
  2. There was also a bit in the first half when he just stood there whilst they had the ball in our box. Did the same thing against Spurs as though he was daydreaming about doing something else
  3. And it genuinely is close to at least once a game. On top of that, his good games are exactly that, good, not world class. He's a poor man's (peak)Soyuncu. Soyuncu had a mistake in him but it wasn't a guarantee every game and he would compensate for that by being utterly dominant. Faes is ok for us now but if there was any hint of £15m/£20m deal, I'd be all over that
  4. Still question makes over the fee and of course the fact that he's similar to Winks (not an attacking threat, lacking in physicality) but we immediately looked better in that area of the pitch when he came on. Simply because he can hold the ball and knows how to use it. Wilf just isn't the same player anymore so we can't have him in there.
  5. Thought you were responding sarcastically to my point (as though you thought I was being serious but you thought I was talking rubbish). What have I started. This is why you don't use sarcasm... And for clarity, there is definitely no sarcasm in this response!
  6. Yes, that back heel that almost gave them a goal was great... Problem with being a defender, no point in being decent for 90 mins if you through something absolutely mental in
  7. I know sarcasm isn't always easy to pick up in text, but I think it's a stretch even for this place, to possibly think we're well run!
  8. What a load of rubbish. We're going through a tough time but we're a brilliantly run club
  9. As I said in another reply, I think having him in the team is at least an excuse to do so or a trap to fall into. As a manager, if you're being pragmatic, it's impossible to not think that you need to sit deeper to cover for him. By taking him out of the team, you then drop that from your thinking. As I say, it might not be all because of Vestergaard but it's a contributing factor. We certainly can't play higher up the pitch with him in the team that's for sure. Maybe Skipp coming in will help as he can actually hold onto and use the ball, unlike Ndidi. But something has to change if we don't get a drastic change of personnel and I think this is one solution.
  10. And? What's the point in being a great passer if he's not able to utilise it. No idea what relevance that has to us being forced so deep because of his lack of pace defensively?
  11. I'm not? I'm saying that because of his massive limitation in terms of pace, it's making it impossible for us to get higher up the pitch, or it's at least an excuse for Cooper to use it a trap for him to fall into
  12. That might be the easiest game I've ever heard of
  13. He probably needs to be out of the team. Not because he's been bad; he's actually done ok. But you can see that his ability to break lines and bring the ball out is severely limited and because of his absence of any pace, we have no choice but to play this deep at the moment. If we can somehow find a way to get higher up the pitch then that's ok but if not, we have to make a change and dropping Vestergaard facilitates that.
  14. As has been said by many of us, he's almost got a free hit. But only if he plays our best players and in our current position, gets somebody like Alves on the bench. Not picking Ricardo, or even using him is criminal. And if you have to end the game with Ndidi as a 10 and Ayew as the striker, you've messed up your subs when you could use Cannon or Alves
  15. He was so exposed today. Made a poor decision for the second goal although the issue was you should never have to make that decision as a defender. First goal, was a blatant obstruction. Not saying he would have stopped ESR, but he'd definitely have had the the chance to stop him. Think he did plenty of good stuff but can't argue he should have done better for the second goal at least. Unfortunately he's scapegoat number 1 for some people. Don't know what's happened to Fatawu in these first couple of games as he's lost his defensive positioning which was one of his great strengths. Sadly that's the case across the team as we seem to defend really wide in the middle of the pitch but then narrow in defence, which leaves huge space on the wings. They constantly doubled up on him and in particular, that underlap was always on. Can't possibly expect him to not get exposed several times in 90 mins when that's the situation.
  16. When your only attacking options of the bench are McAteer, Ayew and Mavididi, you know that you're in trouble
  17. Slightly harsher but yes
  18. Because he's outnumbered?! You expect him to deal with 2 players all game and be perfect. Ok
  19. He's been outnumbered all game. What the hell is he meant to do? Maybe he shouldn't have gone early but if we could set up properly, he wouldn't have to make that decision
  20. And people think he's a really good defender
  21. Would have been mental if that wasn't given considering the context of their first goal
  22. Somebody has got to help Justin out. Underlapping on that side every time
  23. Yeah should have made a tackle and wiped out Iwobi since he was obstructing him getting to Smith-Rowe
  24. Nonsense goal. Blatant obstruction from Iwobi on Justin
