We gambled on getting champions league money and failed... twice. I agree that PSR does not protect clubs. Clubs go bust coz of "shit or bust ownersc" with no skin in the games. Giving efl clubs more pl money will not make them more sustainable... it will just inflate payments to players and agents

Yes... Im sure they wanted the esl... but now the only club not facing ffp probs is mam city. Ffp actually perpetuates the elite ckubs dominance. I miss him. Near the end of his playing days I shouted him over to sign an autograph for my son after the warm up. The playing players didnt normally... but he smiled and came over and signed. I remember thinking he was realizing there would be days ahead when he couldn't make a kids day so easily. We give him stick... but he is a good guy

The situation is a disgrace and shames us. The club require a code of conduct that bans grooming or controlling behaviors... these may not be illegal but can be banned in a code of conduct. Such a code should also make it clear that colleagues must whistle blow. The club should come out and announce a new approach.

a bond of say £1m in div2, 2mil in dev 1.5 mil in championship and 10-mill in pl - but these are personal securities put up by the shareholders - required by the leagues - and any new shareholders inheriting shares mush also put up the bond or sell. The bond wouldn't bother wealthy owners - but the clubs going in to admin are largely lower league (look at derby situation, blackb, previous problems at portsmouth etc).

Look at rugby union... paying wages that cannot be afforded (given the low quality of sponsors in england). Lower league clubs are the same. 20 years ago I had a lunch with a guy from hsbc who managed their football accounts and he said the wage bills were crazy then. So local clubs become the projects of "shit or bust merchants "... but when the gamble fails the owners walk leaving the fans with a club being wound up by HMRC. My solution is to demand a bond from owners so that they forfeit money if their club goes into administration... this would mean they can't walk away Scott free and need to be more responsible. ( I would also prevent previous owners from buying clubs out of administration.) I tell you now that if a regulator agitated for more pl money to be given to efl clubs then it will just disappear in to the pockets of agents and players... it won't make the clubs more secure.

I think you are right. He needs to assert a direction of travel to win the confide ce of fans. He needs to show this leadership now.

It's not really clear what the fixes trust views are. A better approach would be to call on the club to recognize failings and put in place measures to avoid similar in the future. Standing, singoing, ticketing, store pricing, concorse facilities, engagement... these are all organisational issues for the club to get right.... and fir ft to advance solutions. I would now add fiscal management and effectiveness of spending.

At soneppint sat 3pm straning will be allowed. Frankly anyone with a VPN can do it now. I cant u understand why the pl andcegl resist the pay per view money. This will of course reduce the value of sky and TNT rights... but this could be replaced by streamibg partner rights (I would want to stream all kinds of games and not have a deal on a club by club basis)

Congerton and rodgers bought in pkayers that inflated our pay structure and so wasted both trabsfermonies and wages. This was in pursuit of rodgers sucess. Yet Rodgers teams were always fragile and we lacked the confidence and determination to see seasoms out... failing to reach the ecl... and so replenish our funds. So this wild spending was a gamble that didn't bring sucess. However the board were there too. What ever the arguements that can be advanced as to the validity of laws, interpretation and jurisdiction we were sailing close to the wind... leading to the current financial mess. The board allowed this to happen...1. for rodgers and congerton to gamble and 2. To sail too close to the wind in terms of ffp. I wonder if the resignation of the fd was connected to this.
