1 point for home games, 2 for away (maybe 3 for ‘undesirable’ aways like Palace, Southampton, etc. It’s only a minor aspect of the 50 points issue, but to get a ST you need to go to most home games anyway for a good few years. That should count for something towards away priority, which would be solved with the above. And cap it for 3/4/5 years instead of bloody 8. I started a thread last year about how the system could be improved, before it got shat on and killed by the same old arguments: “Go to the likes of Brighton, Palace, Southampton for a few years, then you’ll be fine for a ticket for Villa.” Missing the point and ignoring the facts in spectacular fashion.

I use STEAM as my starting word. If it ever comes up TEAMS I’ll be furious.

I’m genuinely struggling to come up with an answer, but for all those complaining about lack of transparency, would you really be any less pissed off if the club announce that 1,200 were going to a special allocation of fans (employees and box holders), with 2,800 going on sale via the away priority system? I don’t see how that would calm anyone. These 20 or so VIPs will be putting in six figures each to the business* (*🤢), so obviously it’s in everyone’s interest to keep them happy… us fans included. Should there be an agreement for all PL clubs to have some corporate seats or boxes reserved for away-supporting VIPS?

Was anyone successful in the ballot?

Will be very keen to see if we hear back about the members ballot, or will it be the same as Brentford? 100% sure that they forgot about doing the ballot for that one until after it had already sold out.

I actually quite enjoyed Stay Close. You need to suspend belief a bit for certain parts to make sense, but it was an alright watch. Just binged Afterlife season 3 which was fantastic.

The only additional way would be to have every stadium in the country running on the same ticketing network so away tickets get added to your normal season ticket or membership card. Wouldn’t stop people lending out to their mates but it would massively reduce things if you had to lend out your ST every time you wanted a free point. Thats also never gonna happen of course. We’re stuck with this honour system for a while yet.

People with season tickets and no intention of going will allow others to use their reference (so that the STH gets higher priority at no cost or effort, and someone else gets a ticket above someone else who should have earned the right to one. It’s a crappy loophole of the system but there isn’t much of an alternative. Although there won’t be many ‘spare refs’ going for this.
