On the positive side, he's again reacted to the weak link in the last game (Thomas). The problem is if results continue as they are we will run out of players to bring in.

Team selections and some substitutions are grating on me, but I don't see how we improve by another change. Getting into a hiring and firing strategy every few months rarely works and he seems to have made good progress behind the scenes, particularly with getting certain players back on side. He has to be given time and then if results don't change by say end of January then fair enough, but no one is going to come in and turn this current group of senior players into world beaters. He's not immune from criticism though and the thing that worries me the most is that the style of football we were told was his philosophy, including high intensity, pressing and creating the space to consistently use the wingers (which were evident in pre season) are no where to be seen in the league so far. And this obsession with Faes/Jannik playing together is costing us points every game. I don't want him to fill the first 11 with kids, but there is no reason why as a minimum either Okoli or Nelson shouldn't be playing. And do we really not have someone coming through that can compete for Luke Thomas's place?

At least Jannik plays some decent forward passes - so I can understand why he’s there. But Faes is costing us a goal a game now. He has to give someone else a chance.

He’s generally been good at identifying weak links and dropping them. Faes has to be next - he’s costing us a goal a game and we aren’t scoring enough to do that.

Some lovely triangles being played. His biggest accolade so far is getting Winks back on side. Him and Ricardo are just too good for this league, particularly together. Throw in James and it’s a great route from back to front.

I agree about Ayew, obviously. Sourmare has been fine, certainly good enough performances for the Championship (I haven’t seen anything better from any other midfielder we’ve played including tonight). I just don’t think the overall performance is as bad as people are making out. Ifs and buts, but if it was 0-0 at half time I imagine most would be confident we’d win this in the second half. I’m pretty confident we will at least draw.

Don’t really understand the negativity. Dominating the game so far and yes bad defending for one chance and a striker doing nothing, but I’d be confident we still get something from this.

Feels a low fee when you look at other clubs' sales recently, but if it's the difference between bringing a few players in in key positions and losing a player who doesn't want to be here then not too fussed about the 5 or so million we're shy.

The problem is you only need to work through one or two pages of a thread to see most of our team called out and “should never play again”. We wouldn’t have 11 to start! It’s been a decline since the end of the Rogers era with a slight ray of sunshine two seasons ago. We’re done until something fundamentally changes.
