Correct. I've been at several games this year at both Grace Road and Derby, and the attendances have looked better than last year.

Good trap from us there, excellent take by Cox.

Shame we couldn't keep that Phillips in. Batted like an absolute clown.

Key wicket that. Great grab from Handscomb.

Yeah, no chance of an outground: https://www.thecricketer.com/Topics/county-cricket-premium/worcestershire_potential_away_playoff_england_lions_clash.html?t=638592247881354428

Yeah, it's the least Lions looking Lions squad ever.
-
Ah yes. Point still stands. That's another scheduling howler in itself, really.

If Durham moved up a place today in the other group it could mean Worcestershire playing away at Chester-le-Street and Taunton with just a day's break in between.

Doubt they'll care as long as it happened during their lame duck vanity project. -
Pleased for Walker. Feels like one who never complains despite not getting a regular gig.

Trendsetters...

Don't watch a lot of boxing but I really like Ronald McIntosh's commentary.

Ah, fair enough. Hadn't seen. -
Not been to the Royal Standard since the revamp but I am a bit worried after seeing a couple of pics. Real shame what happened to Derby Brewing. Travellers Rest must have changed post-Covid then, as I used to live opposite and thought it was crap. Went in twice in four years, used Grundy's as our local instead. Got a few mates coming up on Saturday and planning to do a few village pubs on the Derbyshire Wayfarer ticket (as much bus and rail travel as you want for a flat day fee). Such a good initiative - again, something Leicester/Leicestershire could learn from to attract more day tourism. Seems to be so much more effort put in around here to attracting your CAMRA/day sesh types.

Feel a bit sorry for Pennington. Deserved his chance and not sure what he's done wrong to get dropped from the squad? -
Brunswick Alexandra Smithfield Exeter Arms Royal Standard (was the Derby Tap) Dolphin Flowerpot Five Lamps Furnace Greyhound Golden Eagle Mr Grundy's Falstaff All top beer pubs with character. Reeling off that list off the top my my head makes me depressed about Leicester's scene these days.

Appreciate I'm probably looking at things through rose-tinted glasses, but I can't remember a time (Oldham/Bradford in the early 2000s being the possible exception?) when mobs were doing the kind of stuff we've seen in the past few days, purely with racist motivation. Fvck knows, but I'm genuinely worried for non-white mates and their families tonight, and I've never felt that way before.
-
By that, I mean it wasn't seen as acceptable by those in power. And, in turn, it wasn't seen as acceptable to condone it. Appreciate it never actually went away, but racists definitely didn't feel emboldened to do what they're doing now.
-
Racism has become acceptable again in the last few years. It had stopped being so when I was growing up, but people at the top have pandered to this kind of scum for years instead of shutting them down. This is the result. These people will never be satisfied. It's time we recognised that and stopped trying to appease the racist cvnts.

Knew it'd work.

We're actually going to lose this...

Racism.

Sussex are missing the same number of players as us (Archer, Robinson, Mill, Coles, Alsop), aren't they? And the likelihood of one of those (Archer) playing would have been slim to nil if he was available anyway.

I think families have forgotten about this thing that was a bit of a novelty at first but fails to inspire long-term loyalty because it happens for 3 weeks in a 52-week year, isn't based around concepts of geographical identity that English people are familiar with, and has a high turnover of players every year. -
Much anticipated friendly between Bristol City and Willem II tomorrow.
