I've long thought LCFC is an example of best practice for any sportswashers to follow.

Shared by many in England who regularly take the piss out of drums despite spending most of games largely standing in silence themselves and are more arsed about posing for Insta, concourse scenes, getting the badge in, joining in with "football in a library", moaning about the price of half-time pints but still paying for them every fortnight, complaining they "can't even get a bottle cap in!!!" any time they see a picture of pyro online, whining about how much football costs in England while continuing to pay for it, bantering away while their clubs get sportswashed and asset-stripped by the latest billionaire chancer or human rights abuser to dig their claws into the English game. Yeah, I'm not too arsed if those lads are taking the piss out of a drum.

Yep, I get it. As I say, I just find it sad that it *has to* enter into fans' way of thinking. I personally think showing a desire to win trophies is always an important marker for your ambitions, no matter how you're faring in the league. In the short term, it's great for squad morale but bigger picture it also helps with future recruitment.

You're not having to explain anything. I understand why people feel the need to think that way. I just find it extremely sad, that's all.

Not sure there's any sadder reflection on the state of football than the fact that fans let spreadsheets be the deciding factor in what they want their club to prioritise.

Was gonna say, the White City side of their ground can be a bit ropey. Remember taking a cheese cob to the head outside The Springbok (I think the pub's called?) after a Friday night game there around 15 years ago.

Christ himself could be running the show and I still wouldn't understand this attitude from some of our fans. No custodian of our club should ever have that right.

Divert slightly via Redcliffe and The Golden Guinea and The Ostrich are well worth a visit.

I think the past page or so goes to show why we need to take the teaching of public affairs and citizenship as part of the curriculum much more seriously.
