It’s starting position. Having the ability to pull away from the defender out wide and dart in with space to run into, compared to starting more centrally with not much space to drive with the ball, instead working in half spaces.

Yup, Cooper literally said “what was most important, was getting all the lads out there, maybe not in their natural positions but so they could get minutes”. meltdown after one Pre season game is mental I will say though when reviewing our manager options I posted on here that Cooper likes his wingers to play inverted and that doesn’t suit Fatawu therefore wouldn’t be shocked to see him become a wingback… My biggest concern was the lack of depth we had/have.

If you’re going down that route though you can make the same argument the opposite way…. Martinez (Goalkeeper), Gnarby, Hutchinson I would be happy with any of them In our team. The point is just because you can’t make it in a top 6 club doesn’t make you an instant flop.

With Man City supposedly not signing a Ederson replacement I can see them signing Hermansen for around £35-£40m next summer after he’s shown he can do the business in the premier league.

I stand by the fact if you have Coady and Vesty In the same defence in the premier league we will get relegated. Not based of quality but we would get out done in the speed department everytime. Also, people need to lower their expectations on Alves. He’s young and played barely any minutes of men’s football. Let him find his feet first, the most important aspect with him is to get him tied down to a new long term contract.

Is he a reject? He came through the academy there which at a top club is very hard to accomplish. For me I think he’s a great signing and adds more speed and directness to the already Fatawu and Mavididi. I would say I am slightly worried about his injury history however.

The best part about him earning £50k is that Rudkin gave him that in a contract extension and wasn’t even his original wage!!!

I think the problem is in a player like Soule, the club might feel they are covering two positions of need (right winger, CAM) in one player.

It’s a shame that when we get to the premier league, they seem scared to make these types of moves incase they don’t work out.

Truthfully, I think right now Cooper wants to have a look at everyone and has probably requested for no one to be sold until he decides who he wants. I think around 3/4 weeks into pre season we will see players being linked elsewhere if not sooner.

Honestly having looked back at the euro’s win from the u21’s, Carsley is one of my personal wants for the job. The free flowing 1-2 touch football, the movement from the front four and the high press they played is everything we’ve wanted from the senior side. This goal being a prime example:

See I think he intends to play a 4-2-3-1 and is looking to sign players that are interchangeable in the 3 behind the striker. Hence Reid, Soule and potentially Saelemaekers.

Because for some reason people think that Alves, Braybrooke and Nelson are all gonna be able to play back up roles. Only one of them got a handful of games last season. I would not be surprised if all 3 of them had loan moves away this summer.

I think he will definitely be gone, he only needs to be sold for £6.8m for us to not record a loss on him.
