  1. He’s got good relationships within the club wouldn’t say never.
  2. Skubala appeared to have some smoke prior to the Rowett appointment. Local lad and regardless of the league difference now, we are an obvious upgrade.
  3. Just seen NEC’s remaining fixtures they are very favourable for them so would be hard to not see them getting European football, which there is no chance we get him if so.
  4. With regards to style of play I honestly believe this is what we should be targeting in league 1 and the championship.
  5. So he is, I wonder why it’s showing some places as out of contract? Would definitely target him as a loan signing though if Wolves don’t plan on keeping him around.
  6. I also remember the dark days of him calling the Ayew signing way before anyone was on it.
  7. - Ross Stewart (free transfer) - Chido Obi-Martin (Loan) - Dominic Ballard - Lorent Tolaj - Charlie Kolman - Will Lankshear
  8. Some interesting upcoming championship free agents: CB - Ben Wilmot, A leader who’s good on the ball with much experience. LB - Max Lowe, just an upgrade to Thomas. Linked with him in the summer and solid going forward also. LB - Jamal Lewis, again an upgrade to Thomas. Struggled with injuries but could be a problem as an attacking left back. LB - Aaron Cresswell, experienced pro with vital leadership. Older player but still performing and a deadly set piece. Short term deal. CDM - Jairo Riedewald, not a consistent starter currently but a true holding midfielder comfortable on the ball. CDM - Tommy Doyle, he’s a leader, good on the ball and scrappy. Would be a good addition. CDM - Andre Dozzell, Very good on the ball, has the ability to dictate play. ST - Josh Maja, been poor as of late but we’ve had interest in the past. ST - Ross Stewart, we’ve been crying out for a different option up front. His presence and technical ability would cause problems in L1. Scored 24 in 46 games last time he played in league 1. ST - Lyndon Dykes, similar to Stewart gives you a different option up front. Goal return might improve in league 1. ST - Danny Ings, short term fix but just a goal scorer. I would be interested in adding 3-4 older free agents with leadership like Lascelles, Cresswell, Doyle (not old) in what I imagine is going to be a very young squad for us.
  9. Frontline is going to need multiple additions this summer. 3 potential targets I would want are RW - Amari Cozier-Duberry (Loan) ST - Chido Obi-Martin (Loan) LW - Reyes Clearly (£3m)
  10. I think you could get around £23m for him this summer. Personally, I would rather take around 20m if they can get a sell on clause of at least 15% for him.
  11. I think the one thing that could put some big teams off buying him is his off the ball work rate. Hes clearly immensely talented but there’s such an emphasis on the hard yards off the ball that some might be slightly put off. I am intrigued to see what fee he will command, I think we are talking anywhere between £5m - £10m. 25% sell on clause needs to be included irrespective of the fee.
  12. I highly doubt it. Payment structures are agreed in advance with written details of when the instalments will be paid. I don’t think that’ll change based of a promotion.
  13. I think staying close to home is important right now for JJ and he doesn’t want to be in France. You could have an agreement that should someone offer a fee for example £10m then you sell him. I agree it’s unlikely but I don’t think it’s impossible far from it. Hamza and LT are going to be here and ultimately they are more than good enough for league 1. Do I like it? No. But funds are going to be needed elsewhere especially in the front 4. I also think a new left back is needed so you could sign a starter with LT as back up.
  14. For further context league 1 has a maximum of 22 players that can be registered. - Players under the age of 21 do not count as usual, but goalkeepers also don’t count towards registration. - The 22 man squad must consist of 8 homegrown players with 7 of those required to be in the matchday squad. - 1 player must be in the matchday squad who’s been with the team from 18 years old or younger. I would expect the following to leave with many staying due to wages being too high (Vesty) or book value being to high to move them on (Skipp) - Okoli (£7.8m book value) - Nelson (Pure profit similar to McAteer last year) - Faes (£6.5m, £3.5m profit.) - Kristensen (Loan) - Ricky P (contract expired) - Coulibaly (£2m book value) - Winks (Mutual termination) - Aribo (Loan expired) - Ramsey (Loan expired) - Mukasa (Loan expired) - El Khannous (£18m, £7.5m profit.) - Monga (Pure profit similar to McAteer last year) - Mavididi (£2.6m book value) - Fatawu (£9m book value) - Richard’s (Loan expired) - Daka (Contract expired) - Ayew (Contract expired) That would leave you the following squad: GK - Stolarczyk, Begovic (renew), Bausor RB - Hamza, Aluko, Joseph CB - Vesty, Souttar, Lascelles (renew), Wilson-Brown, Gray LB - Thomas, New signing, Joseph CDM - New signing, Braybrooke, Cartwright CM - Skipp, James (SIGN!), Page CAM - New signing, BDCR, Page Right winger - New signing, New signing, Thomas Striker - New signing, New signing, Thomas Left winger - New signing, New signing, Alves
  15. Correct. Winks will have £0 book value, expect a mutual termination of the contract.
  16. He’s got at least another month out.
  17. Only on this forum can you see people stating we have no manager because no one would want the job but the very next posts suggest Thomas Frank and De Zerbi
  18. With relegation of course, anything other than that then I don’t think so. There will be money to spend, a more attractive wage budget and a lot of deadwood will be gone. The opportunity for a complete rebuild intrigues managers.
  19. For me, give it someone like Nige or Rowett until the end of the season, then try to get Carsley or Solskjaer when the job is a lot more appealing.
  20. My top three choices: 1) Lee Carsley - Been wanting him the past few years genuinely think he will be class, but can’t see him leaving his gig with the FA with our current position. 2) Mark Robbins - I doubt we will pay his compensation but I think he would be interested even with the mess we are in. 3) Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - Good direct attacking football, history of working well with ego’s, and isn’t afraid of facing the music or taking on a challenge.
  21. Being available because you’re not in favour with the club you are at as it didn’t work out, in comparison to not being favour because you can’t stay fit are very different though. I like Ramsey, he fits this style well.
  22. I am surprised we haven’t spent any money on permanent transfers considering how much we’ve raised.
  23. Concerning how little he’s played to be honest.
  24. This seems to be riding on VK leaving. Even then Marti may choose to put his trust in Aluko to back up Thomas.
  25. Fair play to him if he did. All that tells me is he’s more cut out for Spanish football than he is English football.
