  1. Loans in League one means if w get up we have less financial obligation next year which equals more money to spend in a higher division. The equivalent spends on a LB and winger of the standard we have got in even if they’re naff would probably be in the ballpark of Cullen’s fee. Makes far more sense to have that money in a hopefully higher division and with better prospects, and doing it this way probably boosts the likelihood of promotion rather than signing L1/Champ journeymen edit:Also means we have more money to spend on better players, savings from this can be added to the pot for a 9
  2. Agree with this^, Evans and Hutchinson should be loaned out, would rather keep Carr as a back up on the right and not disturb Evans getting minutes
  3. He is still only 20, could just be he hasn’t developed physically the way we’d want, or hasn’t picked up little bits that you need for men’s footy like what was said about Hutchinson?
  4. Do wonder how much of that also counts for us paying them to find moves for our crap
  5. Adebayo not happening makes Cullen quite a confusing one, surely sign your out and out striker first even if it is an experienced back up so we have someone for the start of the season and can be patient for our number one
  6. With Ings it took a few days for the medical stuff to leak out too, could be adebayo failed his medical too
  7. Think they just aren’t over the line yet, you’d figure the sooner they’re announced and with the team training the better, and surely if they were training it would get out
  8. Don’t think he is off the table,‘wouldn’t be surprised if we made a few more sales and tried for him later in the window if he lasts
  9. I’m hoping it’s more of a variety of depth signing, think we are done signing for the 8/10 role now, we have a lot of different players for the role now
  10. 46 game season and the cups, Braybrooke, Page, Alves and Aluko will play plenty regardless of this signing
  11. Reckon Yakcouye on loan from Brighton, Burns from Man City, maybe Manning or Yates
  12. Sorry but loaning a LB with our current depth and money situation is the move here. Hes 19 and going to League One, I would be shocked if he isn’t available next summer unless he is legitimately unbelievable in which case the year rental would be worth it. Don’t think he blocks any of our youngsters, and wouldn’t want Joseph/Aluko making their first impressions of the wrong side
  13. Problem is with Okoli until he finds a team that sit deep and let him just defend his value will continue to nosedive, do not think he will do well in League one playing Martins football
  14. Happy with 6’4 striker and a young LB that is at an age where we could probably buy next year, feels like smart business. I’d say maybe one more striker and definitely a right winger then it’s jsut replacing the outgoings
  15. DKD would be another good signing in the Chaplin mold, a big issue we have had for while is our depth is crap- those two are guys that if we can go up will be unreal depth for the championship- he also was not given much of a chance at all by Wrexham. As long as it’s cheap and the wages aren’t big I think it’s great, our Ballard type signings should come if we get promoted
  16. Tbf he does make a comment that sounds as though it isn’t necessarily the finances stopping us signing one or two- he says it won’t be because we can’t but because we haven’t found the right person yet- that implies to me that he believes resources are there, whether or not they actually are
  17. Completely off the point here but I don’t remember Rodgers being likeable at all, remember even at his best thinking he was a bit of a bellend
  18. Think if the prices online are right he’s the most likely to stay in the position, Nelson is better value and the others can go for nothing and in Okolis case probably a loan with an option
  19. My thoughts, unless it’s a decent offer no reason to sell rather than keep him as a backup, especially with the exodus expected at CB in the next month
  20. Surely it would not make sense to asset strip and set us up for L1 failure to find a buyer, as that would damage further the KP bargaining position- think it’ll be cheaper younger signings to try to bulk up the squad value prior to a sale but I would be stunned if we didn’t make a good few signings- even looking like we might go up will probably encourage bidders, with a lowered wage bill and a lot of young academy squad members and the new infrastructure, if anything it seems they are doing what should’ve been done years ago because they’ve realised the club has to look sane to a buyer
  21. I’m not so sure- throughout his loans he has ended up higher up the pitch and I think he ends up playing higher up. I reckon it’s more likely we sign another 6 if Skipp goes than an 8, think it’s Braybrooke vs Page for that role
  22. It’ll look different with Mavididi and Alves on I think, we desperately need a striker or two and a winger or two
  23. Think Ali at LB looks a bit off the pace unfortunately
  24. Aluko is nailed on to be our starter, he’s unbelievable
  25. Grand scheme of things £24m for what he has achieved isn’t a million miles off of what we would get for him in the championship, feel we have done alright here. You’d obviously prefer to keep him but I’m not upset with this deal in our situation
