Think until you have shown a certain level of play at that height you won’t be played up front just because you can’t do the physical stuff that 6ft guys can do even if they’re crap. If he ends up as a striker, it will be via the Watkins route. As of right now I think his future is out on the right coming in onto his left foot

Would’ve thought a similar fee for TWB and Cartwright, Richards was probably menial. Couple of million was more just a turn of phrase, would imagine it is a lot closer to a million. I’m not really upset about those three being let go of as I think it is better practice than holding them and releasing as we tend to do, more pissed off with Page/Motsi/Monga deals, but it is where we are now

Think of all the championship sides being desperate to jump ship to Sheffield United would be like for like, would be very short sighted for him to throw his toys out for that move. If it was Middlesbrough or someone of that ilk I could see the desperation a lot more, but he is more than likely going to end up in a similar situation next year there as he is here next year

Do we know the fee, and for that matter do we know what we got for Richards/Cartwright? If we are getting a couple million for the three it’s not awful, especially if they aren’t seen as being good enough. Stockport are in our division and direct competitors but where we need to be in 5 years or even 2 is very different to them

It’ll be announced this afternoon or tomorrow, he’s doing media and interviews today and we know that takes a day or two, as was the case with Burns, Watson, Cullen etc etc. The deal is most likely already done and we are just doing the classic piss around, wouldn’t be surprised if he is training today with the team
