My West Ham mate is very fond of Bilic, would be better off with him than a few, I just really don’t want Martin or Rowett
-
I meant Bilic, my bad
-
Hopefully waiting for Blackburn to go for Ismael and leave us as Challinors only option- we can dream
-
I wouldn’t be upset with him at all but feels way too creative for our lot
-
Can’t disagree with any of this. Regardless of opinions we have it all does circle back to the completely embarrassing ownership and running of the club, all roads lead to the same destination
-
Deals like that should at the very least have 50% sell ons and bonuses based on appearances for the club taking the youngsters based on the level of the appearances, or else it really does discourage producing young English talent for anyone but the big 6
-
Could be his agent circulating interest to try to push an offer through from another interested club? That would be nice
-
True, I was moreso going for the angle of being able to produce the talent more now, as I see 4/5 youngsters who could be those types coming through. The above post about it being 14m a year was something I wasn’t necessarily aware of but also when I say our use I mean moreso the opportunities to use the space to create income. Through my work for example I know Arsenal make a large amount of money creating and selling renewable energy at theirs, and there is ample space for us to do this, we could also look to rent out sections of it, sell Belvoir and move the women’s team in too etc. However at 14 a year is not an easy number to reach tbf, but as much of a nightmare as that is I do think we have had many chances to mitigate the cost slightly and seem to have chosen not to do anything at all
-
Don’t completely agree here, although it is very frustrating realistically it’ll be the top 1% who get swooped like this, we are still producing a massive amount of sellable talent, even if Motsi, Monga and Page do go we still have millions in talent and it may be the only thing that saves us from the completely inept running of the club especially with transfers. Guys like KDH, Barnes, Chilwell who were not massively rated made millions for us, as long as we can keep some of the guys who are a level below the Motsi’s and Monga’s at that age I think it’ll end up being worthwhile in that regard. Main issue I have with seagrave is more the way we have used it and haven’t taken advantage of the opportunities it presents

Think for me I just desperately wanted someone with a bit of versatility for once, so if we do move on or they move on we won’t be scrambling for a ‘new version’ of the old manager, which I don’t think tends to work out unless you are a top top level team. It’s how we we ended up getting relegated from the Prem twice over
-
Martin mate, it was at the end of one his articles that Blackburn were interested in Martin and his Sunday story with regards to us was that he was pretty much through the door- his exact words are ‘Blackburn having Martin on their list but Leicester being well down the line for him’. Would add I didn’t ask specifically about Martin just what the Leicester story was and that was his response
-
I hope so but could also just be that we are pretty irrelevant for most mainstream journos as we are League one, fingers crossed
-
I asked in his comments and he said Blackburn were interested but we are ‘way down the line’ for him
-
Alan Nixons story for us today was that we are close to finalising Martin
-
He isn’t world class nor do I believe he ever will be but let’s not lose the distinction between that and not being prem level. Being rapid with a good strike and cross, which he currently has, will be enough for him to be a functional prem winger. If he had everything he’d be playing for Real Madrid, he is still absolutely a class above us and has been for a while, he will go to a mid table club and build a very good top flight career for himself once he gets out of our mess, if you don’t think he will play in a top 5 European division I think you are a bit nuts
-
His football marries being completely unable to defend with being completely unable to build any sort of attack without his entire 11 in the opposition half. Also king of giving away stupid unnecessary goals. His time at Rangers was catastrophic as was his time in the prem with Southampton. Extremely short sighted appointment as he will be alright as long as he has the best team in the league, but when we get promoted out of our teams depth we will be found out and won’t have the squad available to change our set up- basically what it has been the past 3 years
-
Changed my mind lads take your time 😭
-
Very fair points, and I do accept a lot of what you have said and do agree with your last paragraph in particular, but that also does lend into what I have said, the time it takes to plan transfers and the fact we will need essentially a new squad and will need to sign players to our new managers plan means that free agency is massive for us. Ideally I think you would want to be at the point now where you have an idea of the manager and can start planning and scouting specifically to his idea of our future and how we will set up, and ideally do so in plenty of time to be able to approach the higher priority free agents, I.e the youngsters being released from premier league teams. It is a complicated thing and if it were any other team I would be far more willing to accept it, but it is just another year where it feels we are doing the same things all over. Will be happy to hold my hands up and admit I’m wrong if it works out better. Would also argue with our limited resources and massive needs we will need to target free agency and free signings
-
It would be if it were an appointment without thought, but they have had a very long time since relegation, since which a whole raft of teams have brought in managers and new signings, and we are still getting tweets about a charity match(after our relegation and prior to what is in all likelihood going to be the lowest finish in our clubs history) and we still don’t even know if our part time manager is staying or going. We are about to hit June, we need to be preparing at this point for pre season and putting a squad and playing style together. We are falling into the exact same trap of the past 3 years, and when we have taken time in that period to hire, they have been arguably the worst managerial hires across the entirety of the UK, let alone in our league. At this point with our process I do agree that we should just hire, at least even if it isn’t the right person which it wouldn’t be anyway, they have time to put together their own squad during this reset and sign some of the more sought after freebies

Only two hours until my date with Jon, hope he is wearing something sexy
-
Literally made very clear in the comment I made that I wasn’t fully able to place him and he rang a bell you weird guy, very contextually obvious that I wasn’t saying he was at seagrave talking details with Top and Rudkin over prawn sandwiches and polo highlights
-
Lijnders ring a bell loosely, anyone have any idea if he is alright?
-
If it’s Martin the season ticket goes back- I go to watch with mates but that crosses my pain threshold

Have to imagine aside from Amartey and the keepers the rest are either in the squad or on loan to L2, no point keeping them around otherwise
