  1. Well we had better win or this is going to be a really bad look
  2. Here for one year as a third choice keeper isn’t exactly stacking shit. Think you are just trying to find reasons to be annoyed here tbh, and we have plenty of those already
  3. Only here because Stol did his ACL, probably very low wages and will likely never even make the bench. Don’t see any issue here
  4. Have quite a decent American fan base, a lot of them getting into footy coincided with our successful period/league win, I could defo see one of their sports consortiums seeing us as a great opportunity for a big English club. With Brum and Wrexham in the championship there is a lot of potential for money there too, bet they were all licking their lips seeing the coverage Brum vs Wrexham got last year for a second division game
  5. Not necessarily a phone of his stubborn tactics but having said that thought we adjusted for Saturday and it was a very different set up. Also do think that the players seem fitter and more willing to scrap, which I think is more than can be said for anything bar Enzo since the FA Cup. Wouldn’t lose sleep if we sacked him but there are some signs of continued improvement if you remove the Oxford shambles. Just whether Oxford was the outlier or that will become a pattern of inconsistency, think Barnsley this weekend tells us a lot
  6. They’ve just had a massive merger with Carlsberg, a lot of staff turnover and changes, they won’t be buying anything like a football club for the foreseeable
  7. Anyone who knows anything about this process, would we hear anything next couple of days with regards to the deadline and any bids that may or may not have come in, or are we waiting for leaks etc in the weeks following? Also, if someone did put in a bid, what would the timeline look like from that point to a purchase? Would we expect to hear something alluding to the sale prior etc?
  8. To be fair even without those two, two away wins on the bounce with two weeks recovery/training time and games against Peterborough and Doncaster at home is a massive opportunity to build proper momentum, kind of turned into a bit of a decent run for us with Barnsley having a game tm and having had a few shockers, think this will be the stretch that decides Martin’s future
  9. Can only be good news, he has a good year we can sell him instead of one of our youngsters
  10. You’d have to think with the options we have out wide it’s probably a new shape, I think- McCarthy Joseph-Souttar-O’Hora-Thomas Lundstram Page Braybrooke Alves Cullen Riis
  11. Either cullen out wide or a midfield diamond with him up front with Riis. At least it’s different I guess
  12. I’d be happy with this, would be active change, although if we do go a back 3/5 I think it’ll be Thomas or McFarlane on the left, best hope for Alves with a back 3 is if he goes one up top and two behind the striker types, which would be our 10 group plus Howell, Alves and maybe Watson in competition
  13. Agree with the last two paragraphs, it’s why I clearly have stated it isn’t the main issue, but I think saying players are not going to be affected is being silly, they are humans too and will have human reactions to things around them. And the moaning and groaning is not what I would call mild mannered in the slightest. You’re right, it isn’t Marseille fans storming a training ground, as that is actually just clinically insane behaviour for an adult with a life to commit to. Just isn’t really a point is it, the players would of course be more effected if we physically threatened them, but are still effected by the fans and their reactions and especially the negativity or positivity, and especially if things are already high pressure. Just because it isn’t the main problem doesn’t mean it isn’t a problem, and we clearly have more than just one problem
  14. Think he’d look a lot better if he was allowed to run into space in behind and we were a touch more direct. Don’t really understand the signing in the context of how we choose to play, doesn’t really strike me as a massively technical player
  15. Think the early stages should have been far worse, I don’t think that has any bearing on what I have said about our current situation though. Also not sure any level of any fan protest would’ve got him and Top out, they’re leaving because they can’t physically afford to own the club anymore, not for any noble reason, but I still agree that the last 2 prem years should’ve been far worse protest wise. Both can be true
  16. Really want Doyle or Page in the ten but being realistic I think I am actually hoping we start Bobby Reid if the alternative is Cullen, what a sad little life
  17. Tactics are crap and all that but surely we can accept that the toxicity has played a part in our complete inability to hold our nerve in any situation whatsoever? I can’t imagine playing over the top passing football with 25k moans and groans every pass is easy whatsoever. Not defending the tactics but it definitely has played a part in some of the crap we have seen. If you’ve played before you’ll know that up to a certain point it all blocks out, but when things go wrong these things become a lot more noticeable on the pitch and it does make it harder to play when you feel like every touch you make is being scrutinised, think it’s why 0-1 at home quickly turns into 0-4 when away I do not think we would capitulate to that level. I blamed the players being soft for a long while but at this point it’s pretty much an entirely new squad and the same issue. Again bigger problems are the tactics and the historic recruitment but it is an issue that will be affecting performance
  18. At what point do we just Vestegaard him and try to get a mutual agreement
  19. Agreed, think what is frustrating me the most about the recent media circus is people saying the squad isn’t very good and pointing at a 36yo keeper and a young squad. The youngsters have pretty much all been tipped to play at higher levels and have been the players who look like they could win a league, and I’m pretty sure other promoted clubs hire old keepers for L1, Brum did, Wednesday have Lumley in goal who was behind McCarthy in the pecking order at Southampton. We are where we are because we started the season with half a squad including a lot of players who did not care, and have brought in a new squad, and also have a manager who plays the highest risk lowest reward(at present) football I’ve maybe ever seen, any other reporting is lazy in my opinion
  20. Think my last Souttar hope is that he hasn’t actually played next to an actual centre back that breathes through their nose, maybe O’Hora leading and letting him do the simple things may help
  21. Choudhury just played a suicide pass into a midfielder and Blackburn scored immediately. Old habits die hard I guess
  22. Think we hear something before the game Saturday, whether it’ll be good or bad I don’t know, but going by our recent history of stories coming out before games I’m not optimistic edit: when I say something I mean articles in the paper of some kind, not an actual takeover being imminent
  23. I think if we had the same start but minus the suicidal defensive passing and slow football, it wouldn’t have turned quite as badly. I expected a slow start but a slow start means dropping points and looking a bit disjointed with moments of high quality attacking/defending, right now is the opposite. Every single year we end August wishing we’d hired the obvious choice, we’ve had Corberan, Rohl, Carrick, Challinor, and god knows who else and ended up with RVN, Cooper, Marti, Rowett and Martin. I really believe in giving managers time etc but with RM, especially after the weekend, I feel more time may be more damage in terms of the work it’ll take to get the squad up to fitness for a new manager
  24. See if we can convince Edwards in
  25. Think this was arguably the worst decision made yday, after Braybrooke and Page have done so well playing deep as a pair I have not got a clue why he would put more distance between them, their interplay is pretty much the only way we get the ball out of our defense with the way we play
