  1. Think this is a Vieites replacement likely just on far lower wages
  2. Think the issue is we sell him and we go into the season without any reliable experienced centre back options. If we do take the offer or not it should wait until we have a replacement lined up, we really can’t afford to go into games with Okoli and Wilson-Brown/Gray
  3. Their captain is from Leicester too, can’t harm their settling in edit- not our academy but was born and raised here
  4. If he has a good first half of the year we can also recall him and place him with a lower league 1 side for the second half of the season, quite like this move
  5. I get the feeling that our scouts have been ignored a fair amount through the past few years
  6. They’re only getting 6m for Hamer, I really don’t think they can afford this deal at all
  7. After yesterday id go- McCarthy Joseph Okoli Souttar Thomas Skipp Braybrooke Cullen Burns Bristric Watson if somehow Bristric still isn’t done I’d go Chaplin or Cullen up top with the other in midfield
  8. Have a bad feeling Reid won’t leave and will be heavily involved, which with Chaplin and Cullen should not be necessary
  9. Just remember like 3 weeks ago he played as a cb next to an 18/19 year old, ducked out of the way of a goal kick and made said 18/19 y/o make a kung fu tackle to save us in his own six yard box, which says so much about him as a player and bloke, hung Gray out to dry completely, don’t need to see him play for us again, maybe the only player I’d be happy to even loan out just so he is gone
  10. I’m not blaming the youth in the slightest, I am saying a team that has a lot of young players can’t be expected to be immediately effective and cohesive, which it wasn’t. I am then saying having experienced players come in helps that curve to lessen. We expected 10/10’s from day dot, and it just isn’t realistic with the team we have. I am happy with how the young players played, but they were not cohesive and it was a raw, young performance in a lot of ways. Why would I be blaming anyone anyway, we won and it was all in a pretty decent performance, just imperfect.
  11. Think they were better than a good chunk of the senior lads but that is how I saw the game as a whole play out so tightly. All talented in their own rights but to expect a full team performance this early isn’t fair on them
  12. Think our fans really really overestimated our youth, and that is not a slight on them. They looked raw which will be worked out of them, and is exactly why people have stuck up for signing the likes of Burns and Cullen. The first month or two is not going to be seamless and I expect we will get stronger as the year goes on, so long as our fans don’t turn. Before anyone says it, I’m fully KP and Rudkin out and think we have been a disgrace for a long time, but thats what turning the corner from such a massive shitshow looks like
  13. His dad Hallelu will be delighted
  14. Just to say I do not want Yates but if we need a cb and are in the bargain bin right now he would fit the bill
  15. Will say I am personally very excited for the season, even if it is against bad sides I really just want to watch us winning games and looking exciting again
  16. Any chance the second striker is Jerry Yates? Pete O’Rourke saying he can leave, he would’ve been based locally when he was at Derby too
  17. Correct stance, very good. If they want to pay muck prices they can take the muck players like Faes and Okoli
  18. And if the club starts moving in the right direction with momentum we could be a better bet next year in the championship then a lot of teams potentially including Sheff Utd, who seem to be doing a slower version of what we have done. Wouldn’t harm him to do half a year and if it’s all gone tits up go in January
  19. Adebayo or Pepple from Plymouth? Or someone entirely out of left field?
  20. Add to that I expect the priority would be to move Faes on and then Okoli, with Faes having a year left and Okoli being unable to kick a ball straight. Think we end up with Souttar, two others and then TWB or Gray as 4th choice until Nelson is back
  21. Don’t see him clamouring to leave off the back of an ACL, no one at the level he’d want would take that risk with his lack of experience at the top level, and he will be 23 and some by the time he is back and fully fit. Get to the top of the league and sign him on for the championship.
  22. He must just be really highly rated by some inside the club for us to be asking for so much then. Seems to be a gap between the way clubs including ours see him and the way we do
  23. Off topic but I really think he ends up at Peterborough
  24. Difference is we are rebuilding upward, not downwards, meaning those wages/bonuses etc will be smaller contextually as the contract runs, whereas Ayew/Daka were very definitely on top flight pay. I imagine the plan is have them this year and then next as we transition to the championship again, then move them on prior to their last year, and if worst comes to worst keep them as sub options. It’s a lot more realistic than Ayew/Daka as reserves financially
  25. Not saying it’s comparable, saying that using an extreme to soften something negative doesn’t stop the negative action being negative
