I would argue politely that this current government do not believe in high spending. The complete lack of spending on our national infrastructure over the past 15 years is one of the reasons why the economy is stagnant. We build nothing.

You can’t get away with alcoholism while playing at this level. Although I saw Barnes and KDH in town several times last season in a worse for wear state in the middle of the week.

I think we have had centrist-rights governments, just with different flavours since 1979. I really don’t think Corbynism would’ve worked BUT a redistribution of the wealth built up in society is a MUST now. The gap between have and have nots is insanely large and the most effective thing governments have done since 1979 is to convince people that inequality is something that you should accept for democracy (through telling people that there’s always a chance they could work hard to get rich).

It changes issue by issue. Poland aside (and it’ll change soon) abortion is always accessible in Europe whereas abortion is basically illegal in half of American states.

JFK would still have been seen as very right wing in Europe but I guess so in the American context. It’s a crazy country when you think about it.

The USA hasn’t had a president with any leftist ideas since FDR really. I suppose you could say Carter but he was chased out faster than you can say John Wayne.

I’d love to see the stats but I can imagine it’s because teams take more long range shots against us. I’m not sure how you coach that and if that is the big stand out defensive issue then we’re clearly in a good place.
