Confidence is an interesting one. I’m not going to place that on Enzo because ultimately this has been a problem at the club for well over a decade now. If anything, ignoring Pearson, Enzo has probably been the only one to slightly turn it back around.

Yeah I think this is very good. Southampton are almost the perfect opponent for us to be effective in what we do. While control in the back and middle third is important, all of our best performances have involved pace in the final third which is what happened last night. You saw in the first half last night on several occasions that KDH especially didn’t have a clue what to do when he got into space, because he hasn’t had that much time on the ball for ages. Once we regained some composure in the second half, we were flying. The game plan was very very simple once you’d accepted that we weren’t getting much of the ball, press high and smash them on the transition. Our pressing was as good as I’ve seen it last night.

I think West Brom have a very good chance in the play offs. They’ll beat Saints over two legs then they’ll play the 3rd placed team or Norwich. They’ve already beaten Ipswich and Leeds this season so won’t be afraid of them, and I honestly think they were the best team we’ve played all season on Saturday.
