  1. Same with the cycle lanes, most of them are funded by the European Regional Development Fund, or at least were! Criticism should come for Soulsby but they ignore the crucial bits, like the children care crisis around 2015, if I remember correctly. I think Vi Dempster stepped down but she’s back as a Deputy Mayor now. The likely bankruptcy on the horizon, will bring even more misguided criticism. In my opinion, we are not bankrupt yet because of the decent management of finances, the council have decent reserves that will soon go. Nonetheless, Bob from Brisbane will blame Soulsby rather than looking at funding from central government and the increase in statutory spending.

I presume so, think the fee was 150k-ish when we signed him.
  3. There is such a lack of education on how funding works in local authority, it’s bizarre. I thankfully don’t have Facebook anymore but occasionally on the Leicester Mercury website I’ll wonder into the comments.
  4. I think it was reversible, maybe I’m imagining it.
  5. I was nine when that kit came out, one of my first shirts. I had Alan Maybury on the back!
  6. Never seen that before, thanks!
  7. Yellow possibly but I’m not sure about metallic gold. Worth a look back at least.
  8. Commentator ‘if Leeds hadn’t had their slump, would they have overtaken Leicester?’. Crazy comment that opens the door to whataboutery regarding if JFK was feeling poorly on the 22nd November 1963, maybe he wouldn’t have been driven round Dallas.
  9. So by that logic, brown was a club colour prior to the gold?
  10. Will be interesting to see what it’s like on Saturday. Maybe a slightly bigger crowd for Women vs Liverpool on Saturday, kicking off at same time as Tigers.
  11. The bottom line is we play in Blue and White, not gold. This is our heritage. Any tacky additions should be kept to a minimum.
  12. I’m not sure why this hasn’t completely materialised. However, I don’t think Leicester City Council paid for it.
  13. I suppose that deserves a bit more recognition but both have done well to turn their teams around. Both have also spent money but I possibly have overlooked the Emery turnaround from Gerrard, without even a transfer window(obviously has used them since)!
  14. Yeah it does sound snobbish but I totally agree, although I wouldn’t count those who aren’t from the usual demographic of football watchers in that. Sometimes it can be good fun enjoying it with people at work who have no club but are totally harmless. It’s those blokes who chuck their beer in the air and film it for social media.
  15. Really don’t enjoy the pretend hype- almost concourse like behaviour when England score. And this is coming from a 29 year old who averages about 30-35 live matches a season. I always enjoy watching the less fancied teams more than England. I hope England win but I’ll be crying out for Filbert Way by the 2nd round of group games.
  16. Surely Emery has just done what Howe did last season?
  17. There will be other factors that support an increase in shirt sales. Most successful period in our history, consumer preference for actual shirt buying, fanbase has increased and non-fan sales too. I don’t believe gold would be a factor.
  18. Personally I prefer just blue and white, nothing else. I think it looks tacky but then if enough people like it and it becomes tradition … However, I don’t think there are enough people who like it to warrant its inclusion.
  19. It’s only been an addition since King Power I think? Maybe 2013/2014 was the first shirt they added gold stuff on.
  20. Personally believe every decade should be celebrated, maybe not to the extent of 125 was but I think a relative nod to the past is worthy.
  21. Where is it in Leicester?
  22. Club didn’t exist until 2010, apparently.
  23. We will most likely be more recent winners of the league than Arsenal, after Sunday. I’m delighted.
  24. If Maresca is staying so should Vestergaard! So crucial to the way we play, defending is only 50% of his game now.
  25. Maresca=Vestergaard. If the contract isn’t an increase on his initial one, I don’t really see the problem.
