Hell there are some unpleasant folk on this forum !!! As long as nothing upsets your precious football club-we won the Premier league training at Belvoir drive FFS. I'm seeing the need for a new training set up just wouldn't want to trash a well established golf club to achieve it.Its just not necessary. Whmy -are Kirby open to 150 new members? Its Lakki and Andrew plus a n other.

Colly - Perhaps you would like to give us an example of something that is important to you and we,ll offer it to King Power.to close and knock down. The golf club has a history and ,tradition and was pretty unique in some ways .very much a working mans club all welcome equal rights for ladies and juniors. A valued and very well supported leisure facility.Probably 150 folk up there today. Obviously we,ll see what unfolds. It is very raw for many of us when there are countless other possible sites around the county that could be considered.

Stopper -the confidentiality agreements on this one on both sides have been garbage.Very poor all round.

1- How the hell can it be a win win.A well established golf club 600 members with 26 years of history will close full stop.It is privately owned so the owners can do what they like but people are leaving in numbers this spring when fees are due- due to speculation -the current owners are seriously damaging their own business and will continue to do so until they clarify. 2 -My daughter worked there last weekend and the staff knew nothing 3-I was out on Thursday with two lads both past captains/committee very well informed and nothing other than a few senior members getting very hot under the collar about the rumour. 4-The site is just not suitable,Its cold foggy undulating footpaths limited services.Planning could easily take 18 months and no guarantee various covenants etc all manner of objections. 5-The players travel all over the world in the course of their careers so a few minutes in the traffic on Lutterworth road at 10 am should be no problem Having said all that until the owners make a statement to the members it remains .a question mark?

Planning will be with Hinckley and Bosworth if it were to go in eventually. Plenty of other interested parties as well to be consulted.

John you are so correct -with my new hip installed I can now run around the KP naked if required. I'm pretty close in but it seems the flat land further up is the key.The course land itself is never ever going to be the basis of a training centre and numerous pitches. Wymy if they are not making money now they never will.Recently Western Park,Breedon and Kings at Mkt Bos all closed down and loads of new golfers at FHGC.Place is packed and function room well booked. But this sort of speculation will do the business no good at all .Staff will walk, members look to move and bookings decrease. If its on its been badly handled,Similar situations have involved a new course of club being built as a part of the deal(Westliegh rugby club as a recent example). But this is a privately owned business and if the family want to sell and walk they are entitled to do so. Its a very well used facility in a great catchment area and as said its not just somewhere to play a round of golf. Its a club with a history and identity bit like LCFC ?Many life long friendships and memories. One last point getting permission for something of this scale in that location will be a long drawn out process.Partly in the National Forest so they will want a say, ecologocal surveys, protected plants and so on,highways,Hinckley council .loads of private objectors, loss of amenity, etc. There is a piece of land where the golf is not played due to a rare plant and another spot where a green was to go but stopped because of some historic remains found. If King Power were to drive out say Coalville way or up the six hills road find a nice flat piece of land maybe an old airfield or similar they would get full support. Long long way to go yet.
-
There are plenty of folk who will be sad to leave FHGC staff and golfers alike.Like a family for 25 years. The Sparsis family will get ran out of town. Nothing gets is the way of the football club money and power? Long way to go yet though I could always chain myself to the fence.

Bert the members don't know that. Just made a couple of calls and it was a definite no a couple of weeks ago partly because they also want a large chunk of farmland to the north and that wasn't forthcoming. Now that makes a bit of sense as that farmland is good flat land for possible 18 pitches. The golf club part gives the basis of the buildings and car parking for the facility The bridle way through the middle is a 2000 year old parish boundary maintained by the county council as a cycle path and bridle way.Part of the golf course would be retained. However a friend was working up there on sunday and a certain helicopter did a circuit plus one of the owners was out on a buggy with a smartly dressed gent.He was asked directly and still said no more to report. So not dead and the flat land further up gives it legs starting to get very irritated and I was be personally very very pixxed with the Thais .

Tommy there are three directors of FHGC/Sparsis leisure and two of them have assured me this is not happening.-but they would wouldn't they. The membership and staff have been assured there is no basis to it.There is hardly a flat piece of ground on there, couple of footpaths and bridleways running through the course.Planning very difficult and a couple of covenants in the title that wouldn't help.If it becomes official then the existing business would contract very quickly Only thing I would say is that the family would probably let go for a really strong price .Just cannot see it there are better sites around.

His demeanor is all part of a cunning plan to fool the opposition.Have you not seen him coming out of the tunnel last half asleep looking like he rather be anywhere else. -
There may come a day when Slim gets the start over our hero Vardy. Be a brave decision

Yes that was a seriously bit of tasty football yesterday . I'm not sure I can think of another player who could even consider doing that. His mind is just moving so quickly and feet follow -
and here was me thinking we had identified that Vardy had their right back on toast and that's why he played wider on Monday?

Nigel Pearson hail the messiah. Only jesting the mans a menace. -
I'm sure Ali was looking across at about 60 min saying can I come off now pls? Maguire did what he does missed two open goals(one would have counted)slipped a couple of times, passed sideways a lot as did they all and ran forwards a few yards at a leisurely pace..No worse than the rest .Lingard looks interested though another one who we had on loan I think.

Fuchs all day what a great value player.Chilwell will make a living bit maybe not in the prem. Running with the ball is fine but a good pass is better.

dyer doing what he does still awful quick

Its lovely you can get a free cup of tea at half time and the seats have cushion things. What you may notice is the owners are behind a thick toughened glass screen presumably insurance and security. Very nice in the winter when its freezing.

Sorry was that the best bits ?

Gray should be cleaning his boots. Opposition are terrified of him and rightly so. Getting the ball in his own half and we in the stands expect a chance to be created.Other players give him the ball in crowded situations with no space and assume he will magic something. Last two minute he ran back 100 yds and got the ball back then 100 yds in attack setting up a cross good chance. First name on the team sheet. -
