Just send the kids and a couple of the old boys like Vardy and Albrighton. Keep the main squad closer to home and do some behind closed doors matches.

In fairness to Youri, he did spend the first half of the season at RB with Tim pushing into RW and Maddison coming central due to the tactical masterclass on display from Brendan. Second half of the season you could tell he was struggling for fitness following his injury, the desire was there, the body wasn't.

Castagne being players player couldn't be more of a joke. The player who is so dumb that he is always a yard behind the rest of the backline playing the strikers onside and to compound his mistake, attempts to make the recovery run whilst waving his arms around in the air akin to the wacky waving inflatable tube man to call for offside when the lino won't flag due to VAR.

Alot of the time people are under NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) and can't actively talk about these things in fine detail. There are several projects that I have been involved with that I am under NDAs on, including other clubs stadium plans... Patience is key, they will have sunk enough money into the project by now that they'll want to see it through - alot of the finer details take some working out and anything involving the council will take some time.

The problem is teams know we are going to play through Barnes because we don't have anyone in the right 3rd of the pitch apart from Timmy due to the stupid inverted winger thing, whether that be Maddison, Praet, Perez or Nacho. It makes it so easy for the opposition to handle, every time Barnes got one on one with Trent, Henderson came over to double up. We're too predictable and easy to counter.

So what you're saying is we're out of the FA cup live on national TV?

I'm going to interpret his head shaking and disappointment to be leveled towards Rodgers and that poor display rather than the fans expressing themselves at the final whistle. I'm going to remain optimistic that he does in fact still have the club in his best interests and Rodgers is simply still in the job because we are yet to find the right replacement. I see little value in sacking him and putting Davies and kolo in charge, they are clearly part of the problem. The only other option being Stowell, who may well motivate and get a response from the team, but a tactician he is not. As for the 'lack of money', not an issue, the amount of money they can invest is where the problem lies hence using FBS as the shirt sponsor etc. due to FFP applying to us as we are not Man city. Yes there is blame to be placed onto the board as a whole for the stupidity of the contracts we've been handing out to some (lanky **** and Bertrand are main examples) that have ultimately shot us in the foot in the last window. I'm still with Top, speculation about his priorities and abilities to run this club are harsh given the success we've had since Vichai and that we all ate up Rodgers excuses for missing out on champions League due to injuries rather than the man himself being a bottler.

I'm sure playing him higher up the pitch rather than CM will go along way to help with that -

Doesn't matter if he did, everyone knows you've not got a leg to stand on demanding a transfer when you've just signed a 5 year contract. What kind of pillock would try that? -
Disagree. It's what he did at Salzburg, it's what he did for us in Europe. This coming deep for the ball feels like a Brendan thing...

The audacity to blame ndidi for his shocking touch before welbeck tackled him is baffling.

"grown as a player but also as a man" - Still got some way to go before I'd consider you mature enough to be a man. Just a petulant child.

It's quite a compressed preseason with the world cup in the winter causing the season to start early. As much as I'd love the chance to see these lads play, I'd rather our first team players be as ready as possible for the season. -
-
My guess as to why Kasper has been given an extra week, and others who will also be at the world cup haven't, is down to Kasper's age. Perhaps he feels the need for extra rest as he is 35 and has played about 70 games in the last 12 months.

I don't really understand the, in my opinion, disproportionate hate towards Thomas / questioning of his abilities. To those saying he is crap going forward, when he broke into the side for us that was one of his strengths. He was exciting charging forward often, both overlapping and underlapping. That's disappeared from his game to an extent last season, but I feel that's more of a tactical/coaching decision to get him to improve his defensive game, which he has done making nipping Infront of the winger a key part of regaining possession. Remember he is young, if he could piece together both the offensive and defensive sides of his game he'll be immense for us. I feel he's better than JJ and Timmy at defending the back post at left back. As for his perceived lack of passing ability it is somewhat unfair as alot of it comes down to not having anyone in front of him when Rodgers plays with 2 down the middle or Lookman drifting in more centrally leaving no passing option down the line. With Barnes offering the line option and KDH offering the inside option, there's no issue and they were linking up really well. He also puts quite a few good balls in behind for Vardy and Barnes to run onto. And defensive solidity in general, I think alot of the issues stem from having Soyuncu, who has largely been dire for the last two years, alongside him (the lampost as well). With a solid CB partnership I don't see any issues with Thomas, when JJ returns to form he's obviously better, but Thomas is not a bad player. Certainly not championship level.

The way he went down reminded me of Zouma doing his cruciate a few years ago, hopefully he'll be fine

I'm curious cause some people like saying we obviously should have played a different formation after the game, what people think before the man city game?
