In before @urban.spaceman says you'll never sing that

At this point I think we (as in foxestalk) are long overdue stopping believing everyone LCFC hire is some sort of simpleton that doesn't do any due diligence and is walking in here blind. It was daft when people thought we duped Enzo about having money to recruit in that January, it was more daft when people thought the same about Marti or Ruud. McCarron isn't turning up here naively thinking the place isn't a mess. He isn't going to be horrified with what he sees, he's seen all the disputes with EFL and the Prem and us barely spending a penny in 18 odd months.

My one bit of optimism for this is that we don't actually, really know how much blame is on Davies. For all we know he could have spent the last five years screaming in to the void in outrage at how much Rudkin was allowed to spend. He could have budgeted for X and seen Top sign off on Y because Rudkin told him it was necessary. We've got no real idea how the club has been run, other than collectively it's been dreadful. I'd 100% love a clean slate with Glover, Rudkin and Davies all replaced by people with a proven track record. Making up a tier of management just to give Rudkin a cushy job and keep him around for sentiment sakes is especially egregious. But, eh, this is probably about the best we were getting with Top still here and at least Mccarron looks promising. ****ing all miserable though isn't it.

In fairness, Rudkin has been promoted out of the way in to a cushy job for his loyalty. It's a pay rise which is disgusting but he's actually now a step removed from the day to day operations he was ****ing up. As long as he doesn't try and micro manage Mccaron and try to dictate sporting decisions to him it should be a considerable improvement in that sense. The two men being most responsible for our financial problems and points deduction both getting promotions is hilarious though.

I love all this learning from our mistakes we're always doing.

I don't know that that's true in the first two games. I thought there looked like progress straight away in terms of effort. The Norwich performance was definitely very subdued though.
-
I understand the doom and gloom but it's probably worth acknowledging that Rowett has had a tough run of games so far and in two of the three we looked very improved. Norwich performance was a kick in the dick more than the result but I dunno. JJ and Lascelles getting back to fitness is big. Ipswich is a write off or a free hit depending on how you look at it. But the run of games after that isn't really awful. QPR, Watford, Preston, Wednesday, Swansea and Pompey. If we don't pick up a few wins in that I'll be surprised. It'd certainly mark I think the only time in Rowett's career he'd fail to have any significant impact? As long as West Brom don't hire the world's greatest coach, we're not really as doomed as the energy in here.

To win games you got to score as well as keep teams out. We need a one man team, a world class talent all round the pitch. Someone capable of taking hold of a match and making it his own. We don't need Kante 2015, we need Koumas 2005.
-
He was not That's not a defence of Okoli btw. They're both awful.
-
In defence of the subs, you have to assume he's had physios instructions for the players. I imagine they didn't want to use Lascelles at all unless genuinely forced and the less stress put on James the better. The odds of either being 100% is slim but we're desperate.
-
Okoli gets out of the ****ing way of the goal ffs
-
We're down. We're just down. This needed to be the start of the come back. We've got to win our home games, we don't even look like drawing one against a team in 18th. They've been all over us, we've had no control, no presence at all.
-
Great save. Woeful defending
-
We need a goal immediately because Ayew is coming on soon and then we've no chance
-
Oh get Reid off. That was ****ing lazy. Carry it ffs.
-
Mav coming on. Fatawu on limited minutes or Reid coming off?
-
Ah man. Imagine actually creating chances
-
Because there's about three people watching him because they've worked out we've no other threats.
-
Instead it's gonna be Ayew for Daka
-
Thought BDCR might have been alright on the left but he's done absolutely **** all
-
I just can't get over how little we've pressed these and put them under pressure
-
That's less of a foul by Daka than half the fouls on him that haven't been given
